About

Thank you for your interest in our La Petite Academy educational daycare in Sterling, VA! We are located in beautiful Loudoun County. My name is Diane and I am the Academy Director. I have over 28 years of experience in the early childhood education field, and a bachelor's degree in child psychology, with a minor in sociology. I have been at this location for over 25 years. Drawing from this experience and education, I can confidently say La Petite Academy offers the best infant daycare and private preschool in Sterling, VA. One of things I love about being a director is learning so much about children, their behaviors, and the way they learn best. My team of teachers is highly experienced and educated in the fields of education, psychology, math, health, and science, as well as other related fields. Our teachers here in Sterling also have many years of experience working at this location and are motivated and passionate while providing excellence in childcare and education. They are another reason I love being a Director at this center. I manage our center the way I manage my family. I set clear expectations, and direct with both compassion and sensitivity. We rely strongly on sound rules and procedures. Safety is a top priority. I believe children need to be guided and directed to learn not only academics, but morals as well. We are a strong, well-educated team of professionals who believe in our great curriculum and support the very best practices in early childhood education. Our days at La Petite Academy are filled with fun and engaging learning activities, meaningful interactions and conversations with children and their families. Until now i am so thrilled with how director is nice and responsive I am going to register my child there and will update in a week: UPDATE: First, it is not an academy . it is just a daycare more like a home care. my daughter went there for a week and i unenrolled her. i tell you truths that I found out and up to you to decide if you want to go there or not. Pros: director is nice and that is it. cons: 1- no hand washing at all!!! my daughter told me , they even did not let her wash her hands before lunch. after she left school, now she is dealing with flu and hopefully it is not Corona. gonna take her to dr today. 2- no sanitizing at all, no mask!!!! teacher eats close to children without mask 3- no curriculum or such despite of the director's speech before enrollment and 500 pages parent handbook. I watched the video streaming for that week. and I just saw once they painted, and once the teacher put together the craft and a bowling ( 2 activities for a week!!!) 4- talking about bowling, I was watching stream video and I notice, the activity was not fun at all for children, teacher gave ball to a child and asked her to wait and stay for photo and then said toss ball to take another photo. the child did not toss, teacher grabbed her hand and dragged him ( I swear she dragged her on floor) to the corner to take another photo from other dimension. OMG, my husband came and said look at photos, she is having fun and then I showed him video and he was shocked to see how the activity went. just like shooting for a movie.nice photos but disgusting back stage. Dont lure by photos!!! 5- the director is her own assistant and even afternoon teacher. I went at 1 pm to talk with her about my views on her school but she told me she is looking over children now and has no time. then next day, I went to drop my child and wanted to talk with her but again she said she is busy taking children to classes by herself!!! I cannot believe, the whole care does not have assistant, office manager or even a welcomer so that we can talk about our concerns. 6- no supervision of children. I do not know where the teacher was as she was not visible in video. I saw 2 boys were fighting and hitting and for 3 minutes nobody showed up. I was worried about my child. then I saw my child sitting in a chair for 55 minutes and no interaction with others although she is social girl. I texted teacher would you mind please give her something to draw or make. and then teacher brought crayon for her to draw. and surprisingly, other children joined to have fun ( they were all hanging around without any purpose) I know in modern techniques, teacher should be facilitator of activities among children and not let a child be singled out for any reason. 7- overall not satisfied at all and I ask parents please make sure your child is registered some where nurturing. these beautiful children are future of our country.
