The main focus of my program is around the developmental needs of each individual child. I accept each child at his or her own developmental level and encourage them to expand their horizons through a variety of learning experiences both in the home and in the community. Very young children learn best through play. Special emphasis is placed upon providing activities that build each child's self esteem, provide opportunities for success, and encourage positive interaction with other children and adults. My program is committed to providing a healthy atmosphere and a strong curriculum that includes: language experiences, creative play, math, science, discovery, technology, art, physical development, self-help skill acquisition, healthy eating, and social development. There will be ample opportunities for development of critical thinking through providing choices, problem solving, discovery and emergent learning. When planning my curriculum, I will provide experiences that reflect the child and their family interests, hobbies, cultures, and languages, all in which the children can individually expand on. I believe you will find my Day Care Home is a happy, safe and nurturing place for children of all ages. Each child will receive love, individual attention, encouragement and self-assurance in an atmosphere that is above all respectful of their needs.
