Hi parents! Welcome to Sunshine Family Day Care, my home daycare located near Ballinger Dr and Wexhall Dr in Burtonsville. I'm Tena Mekonnen and I provide a nurturing environment for infants and toddlers that is respectful and mindful of their needs.
Learning for infants is focused around care-giving activities such as feeding, diaper changes, developing small and large motor skills, language skills and music. Toddlers will be encouraged to learn self help skills such as feeding themselves and learning how to self sooth, always with loving support.
Sunshine Family Day Care is small and cozy and I give a home-like feeling to my children. I want them to feel safe and comfortable. I have over 15 years of child care experience, and I am a very caring and loving provider. Please come and meet with me to see my daycare and to decide if it is the right place for your child!

This provider is a very attentive, loving, caring, patient, and amazing babysitter to my son. I would recommend this provider for anyone who is looking for a top notch babysitter for their child, that is also an amazing human being.

Our daughter has been attending for the past 3 years and she loves coming to daycare. She has fun learning and playing with her friends. This provider loves the kids and they love her and we are happy to have found such a great place for our daughter to learn and grow.

We are so lucky to have found this daycare. Both of my children attend and they are very happy when I pick them up. She is loving and the kids love her and going there. It is a huge relief as a parent to leave your children with people you trust.

This provider has been a second mom to all three of my children over the years from age 6 weeks to 2.5 years old. I’m so grateful for her loving care of them. They adore her and feel safe and at home with her. She is wonderful.

I am so thankful I found these providers to care for my daughter while I am at work. We started when my daughter was just 8 weeks old, and she's been there for over a year now. My daughter is happy every morning when I drop her off, and happy when I pick her up. I used to go everyday during my lunch hour so I could breastfeed and found that all of the children were happy and loved and respected their teachers. I am so grateful I found them!!!!

As a first time mom, I was extremely nervous leaving my baby with anyone. This provider made sure that I knew she was in good hands. I would receive photos and videos throughout my day which made my experience easier. My daughter is now 10 months and gets super excited to see this provider in the mornings. I'm extremely happy with her and her very clean facility.

It was very hard leaving my son with someone other than family, but this provider is wonderful and I always feel very safe drooping my son off with her. My son loves going to daycare and loves this provider and her family.

My child attended this daycare from 2012 till she graduated from 5th grade. She has a very clean and safe facility. Theres no reason for me to worry when I drop my child off at her day care. Shes very professional and loves children and takes really good care of them. If your looking for a safe caring environment for your child this is the day care for you! You'll be worry free knowing that your child is in good hands.
