At Lil’ Sprouts of Essex we celebrate each child as a unique individual. Our curriculum is a creative one, based on a hands-on approach. We encourage children to make choices and to become self-directed. While focusing on the “whole child” we have adopted the philosophy and methodology of the Creative Curriculum, which has been approved by the Massachusetts Department of Education.
Our staff of educators plan on a weekly basis to offer units of study that build on the growing knowledge base of our students. We also create units based on the expressed interests of our students, while weaving in all the areas of the curriculum.
We provide an environment rich in literature and language while creating many opportunities to learn and socialize in the areas of blocks, dramatic play, art, dance, housekeeping, music, creative movement and the development of pre-reading, writing, math and science skills.
Parent volunteers are welcome in our school. We celebrate childhood with special events, inside field trips and various enrichment programs.
Enrichment programs are additional activities that you would typically be organizing outside of school time. At Lil’ Sprouts of Essex we bring these to you to save you time and travel expenses. Your children are able to sign up and participate along side their friends. Our activities may change from time to time to keep the offerings fresh and enjoyable to our students. Some of our past offerings have included yoga, science, pottery and swim lessons. We are always open to new experiences.
