I have been a family child care provider in Montgomery County for 15 years and am currently located in Gaithersburg. I have two children of my own who are both grown professionals. I enjoy working with young children of all ages and love to watch them grow and learn. At Martha's Bilingual Spanish Childcare, the children are exposed to both the English and Spanish languages.
I am certified in several programs that are recognized both locally and nationally. I am CDA credentialed, I have reached the level 4 plus of the Maryland Child Care credential, Maryland/Excels certified and I have obtained the National Accreditation for Family Child Care (NAFCC). Accreditation reflects a high level of quality though a process that examines all aspects; relationships, environment, developmental, developmental learning activities, safety and health as well as professional and business practices.
At Martha's Bilingual Spanish Childcare, our Curriculum is The Creative Curriculum for Family Child Care. This helps us offer a high-quality program that meets the standards established by NAFCC - Planet activities, materials and equipment and interaction between children and providers. It would focus on all areas of child development (Cognitive/intellectual, language/learning. I continue to take courses and attend seminars and workshops to keep up with the latest standards.
I participated in the Montgomery County childcare pre-k curriculum to enable me to better prepare your child for Montgomery County kindergarten. I select my lessons and activities according to the strengths and needs of the individual children I care for. I consider each child’s progress as I select a variety of resources and materials for the children to play and learn both inside and outside. Simply looking after the children to ensure their safety is my number one priority, however I also conduct different activities to promote understanding. I value the importance of reading and create an environment that fosters a love of literacy.
I believe working with the families is important and I encourage parents to visit our child care program and participate in daily activities. I am always open to suggestions that you feel would better your child’s experience at my center.
Being a teacher and caregiver of young children, I know that love and respect is the key to promoting a socially and emotionally happy child. Positive guidance while you are away from your child will lead to a better future for your child.
