Gunners Lake Children's Place, Germantown

Welcome to Gunners Lake Children's Place, my licensed home daycare and preschool in Germantown, MD. I’m the owner and main caregiver and I have 36 years of child care and early childhood education experience. I’m CPR & First-aid certified and I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Pediatric Nursing. I’ve been in this industry since 1986 and I’m still loving it! My passion and genuine love for children are what keep me going. It’s a challenging job, but very rewarding and fulfilling as you witness them grow and reach their full potential. I run my daycare with my assistant and she holds a Bachelor's Degree in Education.

Gunners Lake Children's Place is a Play-based learning program, allowing children to learn through play and educational activities. My students enjoy doing arts & crafts projects, and I also teach them ABCs, shapes, colors, math, science, and social skills. In addition to English, I speak Farsi and upon request, I can teach your child this foreign language (my daycare is not a bilingual program though). I strive to create a stimulating learning environment by decorating my walls with educational charts and posters and providing age-appropriate toys and learning materials. My daycare has a big playroom, a nap room, and a jungle gym set in my backyard.

I’m open all year-round between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm, Mondays to Fridays. I provide full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 6 weeks, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. I can also accommodate children with speech problems. Home-cooked lunch and snacks are provided to all kids attending my program, which are both included in the tuition. I also accept school-age kids and offer before and after school care (I’m close to S. Christa McAuliffe Elementary School, Clopper Elementary School, Germantown Elementary School, and Fox Chapel Elementary School). To prevent any possible allergies, I maintain a peanut and tree-nut free environment.

Gunners Lake Children's Place is located in the Gunners Lake Village neighborhood in Germantown, MD. My home is near Waring Station Local Park and Waring Station Rd. Your daily commute to work will be very convenient since I have easy access to Middlebrook Rd, Great Seneca Hwy (route 119), Germantown Rd (route 118), Clopper Rd (route 117), and just a few minutes away from Interstate 270.
