Crescenta-Canada Nursery School, La Canada Flintridge

Our goal at CCNS is to provide rich experiences and opportunities for children to develop sound relationships with other youngsters and to provide a nurturing environment where children can develop good feelings about themselves, their abilities, and the world around them. Our school offers a place where you can share in your child's nursery school experience, meet other parents who are interested in participating and sharing in the same way...and who can actually have a hand in the running of the school. Our school is Christian based, and is non-denominational (we lease space from our host church). Our Christian practices include prayer before snacks, the celebration of holidays, and periodically the pastor of our host church will share bible stories with the children. Our School is for children between the ages of 2 years 9 month through 5 years. Our classes meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We now offer an optional 5 day a week program for the Busy Bear class (4 year olds). Each School day is from 9 to 12:00. The school year, including holidays, corresponds with that of Glendale and/or La Canada Unified School District. All children must be toilet trained. Every effort is made to balance classes according to gender. The class size is 15-20 children per class. Each class has a teacher and two to three parent aides, which makes our school one of very few to have an adult to child ratio of 1 to 5.
