Welcome to Lorton Station Children's Den! 👋 We are a licensed home-based daycare and preschool located in the family-friendly community of Lorton Station in Lorton, VA.

We’re right off Lorton Station Blvd and Pohick Rd (SR 638), giving us easy access to Richmond Hwy (US 1), Telegraph Rd (SR 611), and the Henry G. Memorial Hwy (I-95). We’re also just a few minutes from the Lorton VRE Station and Lorton Station Town Center, as well as Sheffield Park and Lorton Station Elementary School.

Program:

Our child care program is open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. We provide care for infants starting as young as a month old to toddlers and preschoolers up to 6 years of age. We also provide flexible drop-in care and babysitting services to support families with occasional or last-minute child care needs.

Included in the tuition are healthy daily meals, prepared in a peanut- and tree-nut-free kitchen to ensure the well-being and safety of those with allergies.

At Lorton Station Children's Den, we are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment and offer supportive care for children with mild or minor special needs, including mild Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and speech or hearing impairments. Our approach focuses on understanding each child’s individual strengths and needs, and we work closely with families to understand their individual needs and determine how we can best provide appropriate care and support.

We are proud to serve military families in Fairfax County with compassionate, dependable child care. As a proud partner of Child Care Aware of America, we help support eligible military families with access to child care assistance while providing quality early learning experiences for every child.

About Me:

Hello parents! I am the owner and main caregiver of Lorton Station Children's Den. I am a certified child care provider in the State of Virginia with over 16 years of experience in the field of early childhood education and care. In addition to English, I am fluent in Hindi and Urdu, and I am happy to incorporate language exposure or basic instruction in these languages upon request, helping children experience cultural and linguistic enrichment in a natural way.

Over the years, I have earned a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential and an Early Childhood Development Career Studies Certificate, and I am CPR and First Aid certified. As part of my commitment to safety and professionalism, my entire family has undergone background checks and TB testing. These qualifications reflect my dedication to maintaining a safe, healthy, and developmentally supportive environment for every child in my care.

As a mother, I personally understand how difficult it can be to entrust your child to someone else’s care, and I approach this responsibility with great seriousness, compassion, and dedication. I take great pride in my work and remain fully committed to the well-being, development, and happiness of every child in my care.

Curriculum:

Lorton Station Children's Den provides a structured schedule of learning activities designed to explore, nourish, and develop essential early childhood skills. We uniquely blend the Creative Curriculum and STEAM-based learning, encouraging children to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math in fun, age-appropriate ways.

We also incorporate activities such as drawing, free play, kids arts and crafts, holiday seasonal crafts, and team work, all thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and support social, emotional, and cognitive growth through meaningful play and exploration.

We are proud participants in the Virginia Quality Birth to Five (VQB5), the state’s unified quality rating and improvement system for early childhood programs. Our participation shows our strong commitment to maintaining excellence in teaching practices, classroom interactions, and overall learning environments.

Through the VQB5 and the Creative Curriculum, Lorton Station Children's Den is regularly evaluated to ensure that the teaching standards are consistently implemented in daily routines, helping us maintain consistent, high-quality early learning experiences for every child.
