Welcome to Mt Vernon Woods Playhouse in Alexandria, my intimate child care and preschool program. My daycare is nestled in the quiet Mt Vernon Woods neighborhoods, near Mt Vernon Woods Elementary School and Mt Vernon Woods Park. I’m 2 minutes’ away from Richmond Hwy (US-1) and have easy access to Old Mt Vernon Rd/Mt Vernon Hwy (route 235). Perfect for your daily commute to work!

About Me:

Like you, I’m a parent, so I completely understand your needs and concerns when it comes to finding the perfect child care provider. I've been in this industry for a decade and I’m very passionate about what I do. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education and I’m CPR & First-aid certified.

I provide nurturing, yet affordable child care and early education to help parents in my area. I’m a very experienced provider and if you choose me, I’ll make sure to give your child plenty of individualized attention.

Program:

Mt Vernon Woods Playhouse is open all year from 6:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. I offer various flexible options to accommodate working families, such as full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 12 months old, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 12 years old. Lunch and snacks are provided to all kids attending my care (included in the tuition).

Excellent staff, caring, attentive and providing a warm atmosphere. my Toddler loves going there and has a best friend that she looks forward to seeing every week. respectful of food choices. Provides enriching, safe play environment.

Diana loves going to daycare with this provider! She has so much fun everyday playing with toys, coloring, reading books, dancing, and more! We went through some big life changes recently and finding a daycare provider that I liked and trusted was of utmost importance. I feel so comfortable with Diana at this daycare (especially because I get upwards of 20 photos of her a day!). I do wish she got more time outside, but I also know it’s been dreadfully hot this summer, so am hopeful for the fall!

I loved this daycare!!! My daughter had been home with me for 2.5 years prior to her attending. She is very advanced, so there were times she was being taught material she already knew, but it was great review and reinforcement for what we were teaching her at home. I loved how flexible the caregiver was with pick up/drop off times as well. She would open early for parents who had to be to work before the regular 9-5 hours, and was always really good about making sure each child got individual attention throughout the day. she also assisted with potty training, which was a godsend!!!! I would absolutely recommend her to any new parents!

we love this daycare! our daughter loves it and is always asking to go see her friends. we have been here 2 years and plan on staying until our daughter goes to school.

We enrolled our daughter the week after her 1st birthday. She is now 27 months. We absolutely love the provider and so does our daughter. Prior to coming here, our daughter stayed home, we were worried the transition would be hard for both us and our baby, but it was very reassuring that our daughter never cried when we dropped her off. A sure way of us knowing she was happy and safe. She has since learned her colors, and numbers, and also speaks in complete sentences. We are very happy we found this provider for our care!

She is the best. I highly recommend her. My chlild never wanted to leave her daycare. She communicates every day with parents about their child’s skills, interests, interactions and joys.

This is definitely the best daycare provider I have ever had for my little ones. She gave me the comfort of knowing my children are being protected and loved. My little ones where learning new things at daycare and enjoying it! My little one is now in Kindergarten and still ask to visit. I definitely recommend this caregiver for childcare!!

If you have the privilege of attending this child care, you won't regret it! The provider is a GEM. She is a trained teacher, compassionate, professional, and clean. I found her almost a decade ago and she still keeps in touch, always asking how my son is. She made such a profound impact on not only him, but my family. She got him ready for Kindergarten in no time; it was truly incredible how efficient she was bringing him up to speed. She also assisted on potty training! I have and will always recommend her child care facility to anyone needing competent and safe child care. Please don't hesitate to call her, she is truly one of the luckiest finds I had the honor of making.
