About Me:

I’m the owner and main caregiver of this nurturing, high-quality child care and early childhood education program. I’m a caregiver with 18 years of experience and CPR & First-aid certifications. I’m a mom of 3, so in addition to my professional experience, I also have first-hand experience with my own kids.

I love working with children because it’s one of the most fulfilling and rewarding jobs – you get a chance to witness them flourish and develop their full potential. If you choose me, I’ll make sure to treat your kids as if they were my own and provide them with a safe and loving environment. I will care for a maximum of 4 children, so I can give enough attention to each one.

Program:

Pinewood Lake Playhouse is open all throughout the year from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I can accommodate weekend care as needed (note that the regular tuition is for standard hours only, Monday through Friday; please send an email to learn about the rates for weekend care). I provide full-time for infants as young as 6 weeks, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. I also prepare meals for all kids attending my program (lunch and snacks are already included in the tuition) and to avoid any allergies, I run a peanut and tree-nut free environment.

My daycare is a play-based learning program, allowing my little students to learn through play and fun, engaging activities. I teach ABCs, colors, and shapes, and make sure that children are well-prepared for school with good manners. We read books and we have arts and crafts as well as make-believe play with dress-up costumes.

I have a fenced backyard that I’m converting into a playground, so kids will have outdoor playtime when the weather permits. In addition to English, I also speak Urdu and if you want, I can teach your child this foreign language (however, my daycare is not a bilingual program).

Location:

Pinewood Lake Playhouse is located in the Pinewood Lake neighborhood in the Mt Vernon area of Alexandria, VA. My daycare is near Muddy Hole Farm Park and Mt Vernon Elementary School. I’m only 3 minutes’ away from Richmond Hwy (US-1) and also have easy access to Jeff Todd Way and Telegram Rd (route 611), so your daily commute to work will be convenient.

Our daughter has been with this caregiver since she was 4 months old, and now 3 years later, we truly feel like she has become part of our family. As a dad, there is nothing more important than knowing your child is safe, loved, and cared for while you’re at work, and she has given us that peace of mind every single day. She is incredibly attentive and always communicates with us about how our daughter is doing, whether it’s milestones, activities, or any concerns. We especially appreciate the photos and updates throughout the day showing our daughter learning, playing, and interacting with the other kids. It means a lot to see how happy and comfortable she is in her care. She has created such a warm, loving, and structured environment where children can grow and thrive. Our daughter has learned so much during her time with her. She knows so many words, can identify all of her ABCs, and can count so well for her age. It’s amazing to see how much she has developed socially and academically in this environment. Our daughter genuinely looks forward to going there every day, and we are so grateful for the care, kindness, patience, and love she has shown our daughter over the past 3 years. We couldn’t have asked for a better caregiver.

She is fantastic! She creates a nurturing and enriching environment at every age. We opted to keep our child with her instead of going to pre-school because we were all so happy and she was intentional about creating structured time for age appropriate learning that was balanced with play. Additionally, she was very reliable, consistent in her care provision and communication all along the way. Your child and family is in great care with her!

This provider is super great giving care for our daughter. She is very careful watch and speakes high very well about our daughter if there is issues or great things about the daily activities she will tell us. And also take photos to show how our daughter interacted with other kids in daycare. she even gave our daughter a birthday gift, so friendly and family care giver. thank you for taking our daughter we appreciate everything you do for us. thank you.

This caregiver is absolutely fantastic. she is welcoming, and has created a loving environment for our son. He adjusted easily to her care and space and is so excited to go to her home everyday. She is diligent in her attention to detail, making sure that kids have what they need. She is very communicative, highly organized, reliable and flexible. she also creates an age appropriate learning environment for our son, who has gained so many skills and knowledge during his time with her.

Our child started daycare at four months old. like every parents, we had a tom of anxiety about it. However, this caregiver sent us pictures the first day and our baby was smiling and happy. It instantly put us at peace. our child has evolved so well with her. She’s always excited and smiling when we do drop offs and pick ups. Her home daycare is clean and safe. We are very happy with the care she provides to our child. 10/10 would recommend her home daycare.

Simply wonderful. She is everything I could have hoped for! She took such good care of both of my girls and became like family to us. She is warm, attentive, loving, playful, and energetic. I have never met a child who doesn’t love her - her joy is infectious and you know the kids are having such a fun time with her and learning so much. She is careful, transparent, honest, and responsible as well, I have never had any concerns about safety. If you are looking for childcare that is personal, flexible, and feels like family - this is the place for you. She has been such a blessing to our family!

She was a fantastic provider for my son over this past summer. Our regular daycare had a long-term closure, but as she had worked and trained under our regular provider, she put the two of us in touch. My son still talks about his wonderful summer with this daycare, and the fun learning experiences they had while he attended. It was a major change for him, but the owner was supportive and did a great job of empowering him to continue to learn to be self-sufficient, helping with age-appropriate tasks, and developing social skills with a new play group. Drop-off/pick-ups are super easy, and she keeps everything in her house clean and child-friendly. She's very communicative on any positive (or negative) situations that arise, so you feel very informed about how your child is faring.
