About

Playcare School Readiness Center is a family owned and operated preschool and child care center conveniently located in Inverness, Florida. Our Mission is to provide a safe, affordable, developmentally appropriate environment for preschool and school age children. Our focus is to provide a stimulating care and education experience which promotes each child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. Our goal is to work as a team with parents to make learning fun, ensure school readiness and support your child's desire to be a life long learner. Our preschool program, and its "Learn Through Play" curriculum develops social skills, improves health and fitness, builds physical skills and stimulates learning and creativity. The daily routine is structured to include language, pre-reading, pre-writing, math, science, art and music in order to develop the whole child, give a life-long love of learning and ensure school readiness. We offer the State of Florida Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) program free to all four and five year old children who meet state requirements. The program helps build a strong foundation for school using educational materials that are geared to various stages in a childs development, and prepares early learners for success in kindergarten and beyond. The VPK program is a four hour a day program that follows the Citrus County School District's calendar. In addition, we also offer an affordable option to parents who need quality child care before and after the VPK program. School age children are provided a quiet environment for homework and projects, with supervised access to computers, internet service and tutoring as needed. We also provide age appropriate arts and crafts, games and physical activities. Citrus County School Bus service is available to and from Inverness Primary School. Our summer program is a full day schedule of arts and crafts, fun games and challenging activities that encourage teamwork, tolerance and learning. Different themes each week, combined with favorites they will not want to miss, provide a variety of activities to keep children active and engaged for the entire summer.
