About

School should provide a happy, relaxed and supportive environment that contributes to the development of the child. This development should occur physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively. Each of these areas combined form a puzzle that all persons are required to have to understand the world and their place in it. We believe children need many chances to excel in these respective areas. We hope to achieve this through the questions we ask, goals we set, information we provide and by the behavior we model. We cannot accomplish learning for children, however we can help children develop problem solving skills, become observers of their environment around them and learn to take responsibility for their own education. Children are naturally inquisitive they want and like to learn. Our challenge is to keep this desire alive by helping them understand their world through senses, feelings and their intellects. A child’s image of themselves is very important to the learning process he/she must feel that his/her ideas, feelings and emotions are worthwhile. Through many experiences a child eventually will build a self-esteem. This self-esteem is important for aiding further success and motivation for learning. Each child is unique in his/her emotions, skills, interests and mental capacities. It is our role to assess where each child “is” respective to the growth pattern and provide a broad spectrum of learning experiences for all of the children. Playing is a child’s work. This allows a child to express themselves and make sense of this world. Play provides a learning cognitive concept. It promotes social development as well as sensitivity through play, children learn to initiate and sustain relationships with others, beginning to build bonds, trust and begin to mature emotionally. It is our goal to provide a supportive atmosphere that will encourage each child to develop physically, emotionally, cognitively and socially.

only good things to say about Blue Bird of Vienna. My kids are thriving there and can’t wait to go back everyday! Teachers are amazing and treat them like one of their own!

I have two children that attend Blue Bird of Vienna and I give this school 5 stars across the board. Our youngest is in the infant room with Mrs. Neven, Ms. Silvia and Ms. Dikcha. We start the morning by dropping her off to Ms. Neven who is just amazing. You can tell she really loves working with babies and we go to work with no worries. The curriculum for the infants is very impressive. They read to them, take them outside, give them tummy time, play music, etc. Every day we are provided a report card. When we pick her up, Ms. Dikcha, who is always smiling and really loves our little one, gives us a run down of how her day went as well. All of the teachers in the infant room are so kind and loving. Our toddler is in Ms. Thania, Ms. Leudis, Ms. Erika and Ms. Andrea’s room. He has grown a special bond with them. They welcome him in the morning with open arms. We also get a daily report card for him followed up with a daily update from Ms. Thania when we pick him up. They do a great job of keeping the kids happy and clean. I often see them wiping the kids’ hands off when they are playing outside and they change their clothes when they get dirty playing at school. We have been really impressed with the amount of art projects that he has done and his vocabulary has improved significantly, all thanks to his teachers and curriculum at school. Ms. Gloria and Ms. Ana watch my kids during free play hours and are not their assigned teachers, but I felt that they both deserve special recognition for always welcoming my children and comforting my children as they got accustomed to their new school. Ms. Erica oversees the daily operations of the school and is very helpful and warm to our family as well. She somehow seems to know everything that’s going on in each classroom and with each child. I have called a few times with questions and have never felt like I was being a burden. They welcome parents to call anytime and have an open-door policy which I have taken advantage of many times. My kids have always been very happy and doing very well which makes having them in daycare so much easier. Furthermore, I have been really impressed with the overall transparency of the school. If a kid is sick with something contagious, they post a sign letting the parents know (without identifying the child). Also, if a child is hurt, an incident report is provided. These are things that our previous daycare did not provide. The facility is large enough to where the kids have plenty of room to play. I like that children are assigned to different classrooms according to milestones. My toddler really enjoys the large playground and both of my children absolutely love their teachers.

It is my pleasure to recommend Bluebird of Vienna but most of all Mrs. Neven who is the head teacher for the infant classroom. I highly recommend Mrs. Neven and have the utmost confidence in her judgment and care with all children including my own son. My husband and I felt very comfortable leaving our child in her care and felt she provided the supervision and care needed to keep him safe and happy. Dropping my child off at daycare for the first time as a new mother when I returned to work was extremely difficult but Mrs. Neven put my uncertainty at ease with her professionalism and overly apparent love for children. I knew from the first day I met her that my son would be in good hands. Her love of children and family values shines through in all that she does. I did not rate the category curriculum because my son was in the infant classroom.
