Gatari Child Development Center is a year-round center in Washington, DC. Our daycare center and preschool is open all year-round from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. We offer full-time care for infants as young as 6 weeks, as well as toddlers through preschoolers up to 5 years old, including children with special needs. Our school provides peanut-free lunch and snacks to all kids, which are both included in the tuition.
Our teachers are also moms and they have many years of experience in the field, so choosing us would be the right decision for your little one. Our goal is to create a safe, intimate, and nurturing learning environment where every child can blossom and feel loved. We want them to have a wonderful, unique learning experience and become lifelong learners.
At our center, we believe that each child is unique so we’re allowing them to learn at their own pace with the guidance of our teachers. For us, it is very important that we acknowledge this in a child's formative years. Our program is designed to help children develop their valuable skills while having fun. Our center welcomes feedback and suggestions on how we can serve you better. It is important to have open communication between us, so we can meet your needs and expectations.

Our daughter was a student at this daycare center from Oct 2017 until March 2020 (when everything shut down for the pandemic). If it weren't for the pandemic, we wouldn't have left.
She was a little different from the other kids there, but that never once got in the way of them loving her. Teachers loved her, and all the other kids too. The kids were friendly and at 1 and 2 years old, she had for-real friends. And "CDC" really does mean Child Development Center, because she learned things. I remember when she just spontaneously started counting and singing the alphabet at home.
If you look at my ratings, not all of them are 5s, even though overall I do give a 5. Why? Because there is love in this building. We trusted them with our daughter and even though we've since moved up 270, we would go back to them in a heartbeat.

The teachers at this center are so warm and caring and we are so grateful that our daughter goes here. It was her first time starting daycare and they have made us feel so welcome. She gets excited every morning to go which gives us comfort and peace of mind that she is in good hands.

Words cannot begin to describe how blessed we have been to find this daycare. While living in the area my son attended the facility for almost a year, from 3 months of age to a little over a year. All of the staff kept wonderful communication with me on what was going on with him day to day. Everyone was always loving and supportive and my son was always thrilled to go in daily to see all of the wonderful staff. It is a heartwarming feeling knowing that you are handing your child over to someone who loves and cares for them as close to as you do, and you will feel that with this wonderful group of ladies. My child was always extremely excited to see all the ladies and would grab for them to get him.
They have constantly communicated with me throughout my child's growth and development and continuously worked with him to help him crawl,walk,talk, etc as we have at home to help him develop fully. They continuously are letting me know his activities, things he has done that day, and just everything about my child. They make you feel like your child is not only important to them, but that they support you as the parent.
I feel very fortunate and beyond blessed to have found this facility not only for myself, but for my son. If you are EVER in need of childcare services I could not begin to recommend this facility enough. Exceptional staff, exceptional services.
I truly hated leaving the area because we would no longer have this wonderful group of ladies taking care of our son. They are exceptional people with a true love and passion for what they do, and it shows.

This daycare center has provided a wonderful and loving environment for my daughter. All of the teachers greet her with huge smiles in the morning and look sad to leave her when we pick her up at the end of the day. My daughter is a happy and tired baby by the end of the day from the activities and attention she gets all day. I am confident that she is safe (I only gave 4.5 because of the neighborhood- someone tried to break into my car at night when I picked her up one evening) and looked after at all times. The provider adjusts my daughter's activities if I request (if I feel she isn't sleeping enough for example). She also talks to me and advises me when I call with any question or concern. I feel that the whole center is a partner in parenting. I strongly recommend this center to any parent who is looking for a caring and loving home away from home for their little one!

As a new mom, finding this daycare has been a true blessing. I could not have prayed for a better place to entrust our daughter. The staff is patient, loving, and welcoming. We feel confident and secure leaving our daughter in their care. Our daughter is thriving and I highly recommend it to any parent looking for daycare options in the area.

I had a tour last week. Me and my boyfriend went and the place was very clean and organized. Very small daycare which would be great for my daughter. I love that they teach Spanish too. We look forward to hearing back from the director when they start taking vouchers. Thanks again
