Brookville Kids Playhouse is a licensed family child care and preschool program in Alexandria, VA. My home daycare is located in the Brookville neighborhood, off Holmes Run Pkwy and Taney Ave, near Brookvalley Park. Your daily commute will be very convenient since I have easy access to all major roads including: N Van Dorn St (route 401), Duke St (route 236), Seminary Rd (route 420), and the Henry G. I’m the owner and main caregiver and I have 5 years of experience in child care and early childhood education. I’m also CPR and First-aid certified, so your child is always in good hands. Before opening my own daycare, I worked as an assistant at another licensed facility and as a private nanny for several families. Like you, I’m also a parent, a mother to 3 kids, so I can relate to your needs and concerns when it comes to finding safe and quality daycare for your little one. I love working with children because they always smile and are energetic, which is contagious. They are also honest and sincere with their feelings.

My daycare and preschool program follows the Play-based learning approach, which allows kids to learn through play. I teach the kids numbers, shapes, colors, and animals. We also read books and sing songs during circle time each morning, and I engage them in craft activities. In addition to English, I also speak Urdu and Pashto and I can teach your child these foreign languages upon your request (my daycare is not a bilingual program though). If weather permits, I bring the kids to my fenced backyard playground where we spend our outdoor playtime.

I’m open all year from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. I offer full-time and part-time care for newborn babies, toddlers, and preschoolers up to 5 years old. I provide peanut and tree-nut free lunch and snacks to all kids attending my program and these are already included in the tuition. To prevent the kids from getting sick, I clean and sanitize the toys, tables, and surfaces. I deep clean when the children leave my facility. I also communicate with parents to keep the children home if they feel sick.
