Welcome to Runnymeade Bilingual Kids Playhouse, a small and cozy home-based daycare located in the Runnymeade neighborhood of Alexandria, VA.
About Me
I’m the owner and main caregiver and I offer high-quality, nurturing child care. I’m a professional caregiver with 26 years of experience with CPR & First-aid certifications. I’m also a M.A.T trained so if needed, I can administer medication to all children in my care. I strive to create a comfortable and intimate environment where every child receives plenty of individual attention (I only take a maximum of 4 children).
Curriculum
My bilingual Spanish child care program uses the Creative Curriculum and offers extra-curricular activities like Arts & Crafts, Music, etc. I teach my little students the Spanish language in addition to English so your child can learn Spanish at a very young age to become fluent. If weather permits, we go to the community playground near my house where we spend our outdoor playtime.
Program
I’m open year-round from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I can be flexible with your needs and hours, including evening care and 24-hour (overnight) child care. I'm also open on Saturdays if you need weekend care (please send an email to inquire about evening and overnight care rates; regular tuition is for standard daily hours).
I provide full-time and part-time care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers between the age of 2 months and 5 years old, including children with special needs. Children attending my program are provided with peanut and tree-nut free meals (lunch and snacks are included in the tuition).
For older kids up to 11 years old, before and after school care are both available (my home is just a few minutes away from Franconia Elementary School and Bush Hill Elementary School).
Location
Runnymeade Bilingual Kids Playhouse is right off S Van Dorn St and close to all major roads, including the Fairfax County Parkway and all major Interstates I-495, I-95 / I-395. My home is also located between 2 metro stations (Van Dorn and Franconia-Springfield), and metro buses are available throughout the area so your commute will be convenient.

My son absolutely loved Betty and his time here. he did so well and she was so sweet and really great with him. I definitely recommend this daycare!

Simply put, this provider is a God-sent. When I moved to the Alexandria area to start my new job in DC, I was so stressed out because I could not find a quality childcare center that could accommodate my crazy work hours. My daughter has been going to this provider since she was 3 months old. From the beginning, it felt more like I was dropping Sydney off at a family member's house instead of a daycare. This provider loves all the children and provides a nurturing, clean, and comfortable environment. We are lucky to have her.
