About Me:
Dear parents, welcome to Van Dorn Village Playhouse, a small home-based daycare in Alexandria, VA! I am a mother myself, and now that my child is off to school, I decided to open my own family child care program. I have 5 years of experience and hold a Bachelor's degree in Journalism & Communication. I'm also First-aid and CPR certified.
Curriculum:
My child care program uses a play-based teaching philosophy, allowing children to learn while playing. Kids are encouraged to participate in many fun, yet educational activities like learning alphabets, numbers, basic shapes, story time, coloring, circle time, greetings and manners. My daycare has a backyard and is close to the community playground, so your little one will have a plenty of outdoor fun!
Program:
My home daycare is open from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I can provide care for children as young as 3 months through 5 years old, including children with special needs. I offer both full-time and part-time care. I also run a peanut and tree-nut free environment and snacks are served to the children in my care.
Location:
Van Dorn Village Playhouse is in the Van Dorn Village neighborhood of Franconia, Alexandria (near Franconia Elementary School and the Rose Hill Shopping Center). My home is centrally located since I am right off the Capital Beltway (I-95 / I-495), S Van Dorn St (route 613) and Franconia Rd (route 644). I'm also a few minutes away from the I-395.

The owner has been an immense blessing to our family. My daughter has been with her since she was 8 months old and she is so happy in her care. She is always open and transparent with parents, which is a gift during the pandemic. We feel very lucky to have her in our lives!

We began sending our son to this provider when he was five months old (he is now ten months). He enjoys going each week and has a wonderful time with the provider and with the kids. When we have needed to adjust his schedule or diet, the provider has been great about sticking to the schedule and dietary plans. My daughter has been under the care of this Child Care for 9 months. I am extremely happy with the level of care my daughter has received. From day 1, I felt that my daughter was safe. I later realized that she was loved as well. My daughter has met all of her milestones since being there (rolling over, sitting up, feeding herself, crawling and cruising).
I would recommend this Child care wholeheartedly!

My daughter has been going to this provider since she was three months (she is almost one now) and we’ve been very happy with this daycare so far. My daughter clearly enjoys being there and she always smiles in the morning when dropping her off. I know she’s being well taken care of while my husband and I are at work and this provider is great with open communication and is very responsive. We would definitely recommend this daycare.

We have used this provider on a temporary basis, and highly recommend her for others. She is very caring and warm to our daughter, and we feel completely at ease when leaving her in her care. Her center is well organized and she provides daily updates on all activities. We would definitely use her again in the future.

This is one of the most caring person whom I ever met. she is so responsible, courteous and focused while caring my daughter Gelila. My daughter always mention her name day and night. I am so blessed to have a caring mom like her. I can leave my daughter with her without any worries. I really recommend this daycare.

This caregiver's interaction with children is excellent. My two girls are excited to go to her. She is very loving caring and fun around kids. I love her energy, enthusiasm and desire to create enjoyable experience for children. Mist of all I know for sure my children are safe and happy at all times. I recommend her to any parent who needs a childcare.
