Welcome to Barcroft Terrace Playhouse, a licensed home daycare in Alexandria, VA. We're located in the neighborhood of Barcroft Terrace, just minutes from Columbia Pike (Route 244), Holmes Run Stream Valley Park, Lincolnia Road (Route 613), and Parklawn Elementary School. Our nurturing child care and preschool program is easily accessible for families living in West Falls Church, Lake Barcroft, Lincolnia, and nearby areas of Alexandria.

Barcroft Terrace Playhouse is open year-round to support busy families with flexible child care options. We’re open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. We also offer weekend daycare and before and after-school care if needed! (Please inquire about before and after-school and weekend rates.) We provide both full-time and part-time care for infants (starting at 6 weeks old), toddlers, and preschoolers up to 5 years of age. As part of our tuition, we offer healthy meals and snacks, all served in a peanut-free and tree-nut-free environment for allergy safety.

Hello Parents! I’m the proud owner and lead caregiver at Barcroft Terrace Playhouse. With over 13 years of child care experience, I’m also certified in CPR and First Aid. When I opened this daycare, my mission was simple: to create a warm, safe, and loving environment where children can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. As a mother myself, I understand the peace of mind parents need, knowing their little ones are not only well cared for but also truly seen and nurtured. I feel incredibly lucky to do what I love every day: making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families. Watching their faces light up as they learn and grow is truly the best part of my job. Working closely with families allows me to build strong, supportive relationships and create a nurturing, positive environment for everyone. This role truly brings purpose to my life: seeing those little moments of growth, hearing the ‘Thank you’s,’ and knowing I help families thrive makes it all so special!

At Barcroft Terrace Playhouse, our philosophy is rooted in emotional connection and individual growth. We provide a caring, structured setting where children can develop confidence and social skills through positive relationships and purposeful play. Our play-based curriculum is tailored to each child’s age and interests. We offer activities that promote early literacy, creativity, and problem-solving, like reading, writing, arts and crafts, and hands-on learning. We also include music, movement, and outdoor play to support physical, social, and emotional development. In addition to English, I speak Urdu fluently and can introduce another language upon request—an added cultural experience for your child! We also organize local field trips at no extra cost, offering children real-world experiences that enhance learning and curiosity.
