Dear parents, welcome to Douglas Park Kiddie House, our licensed home-based daycare and preschool in Douglas Park, Arlington VA! I am the proud owner and primary caregiver, bringing more than 25 years of expertise and love to the world of child care. I’m CPR and first-aid certified, as well as MAT trained to be able to administer medication when needed. I'm fully committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for your little ones!
Location & Facility:
Douglas Park Kiddie House is operated out of a single-family house in the heart of the Douglas Park neighborhood. Centrally located, we're easily accessible from S Glebe Rd, Walter Reed Rd, and Columbia Pike. The I-395 is also just a few minutes away. Our home is nestled in a peaceful residential street, providing a safe and secure environment for your child's daily activities.
Our child care facility is not just big and beautiful but thoughtfully designed to cater to the unique needs of every child. The ground level is dedicated to childcare, with several rooms for various activities and a cozy nap room for rest. We also have a backyard, where you'll find our playground where we can play and enjoy the outdoors when the weather permits.
Program Information:
We operate 4 days a week Monday to Thursday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Children are welcome at our daycare from birth to 5 years old, and we cater our program to the unique needs of infants, toddlers and preschoolers. For parents of school-agers, we can also provide before & after school care until 12 years old (we’re close to Dr. Charles R. Drew Elementary).
We offer various schedule options to accommodate all working schedules: full-time and part-time care, but also drop-in care for occasional needs. Meals and snacks are included in our tuition, and as a peanut-free and tree-nut-free facility, we prioritize the safety of each child in our care.
Last but not least, we understand that every child is unique, and we celebrate those differences. Douglas Park Kiddie House is proud to be a place that can accommodate special needs, ensuring that all children, regardless of their abilities, can thrive in our supportive environment.

My child had a positive experience at this daycare. He was there from 6 weeks until 2 years. He received great care there, and I felt he was safe with this provider. I had a bad experience with another home daycare with my other child, and the care and safety esp. by the caregiver was of upmost importance to us when choosing a daycare this time around. There is a very nice basement which is dedicated to young children.

She provided an excellent daycare experience for my son. Her home had lots of great toys and a backyard for play during nice weather. He enjoyed playing with the other children there too. I appreciate her flexibility with changing work schedules too which helped a lot during illnesses and work travel. Highly recommend.

Both my boys went to this day care! Although our boys have been in school for a while, we love the provider so much that we keep in touch regularly and consider her to be a member of our family.
