Founded in 1990, Herring Run Head Start is a federally funded family development program providing early education, child development, and intervention services for 119 low-income children and their families in northeast Baltimore City. The program enables children to be better prepared when entering kindergarten, thereby improving the likelihood of their success during their academic career. The program served 282 children and their families during fiscal 2000.
