History
The NIH Campus East Child Care Center is operated by Parents of Preschoolers, Inc. POPI is a non-profit corporation and provides childcare for children 6weeks to 5 years. POPI is an NAEYC accredited program licensed by MSDE.
Program
POPI offers mixed-age classrooms which provide a more varied approach to learning. Each child can be taught or grouped for play with other children at his or her level, regardless of age. The benefits of mixed-age groups are many; including: a richer learning environment where children can learn from one another, greater communication skills, fewer transitions, bonding; not only between caregiver and child but also between caregiver and that child’s family.
Philosophy
Here at POPI we believe children learn through play and hands-on experiences. Our highly qualified teachers and administrative staff work with families to create a safe and inviting learning environment that fosters socio-emotional, language, physical, and cognitive development.
POPI is an inclusive childcare that focuses on the individual needs of children and their families. POPI promotes socio-economic and cultural diversity. We believe caring for children is a community effort and that children learn best when they are loved and cared for by adults who respect and cherish a child’s need to explore, use their imagination, make friends, and have fun!
