We seek to nurture the child’s natural love of learning through a prepared environment which encourages discovery and self-paced learning. Our children develop their abilities and talents, pursue their interests and achieve ever-increasing levels of independence. Our main objectives are to provide opportunities to explore and learn in a warm caring environment and to help the children achieve the confidence and skills to succeed in subsequent school experiences. An enriched program is offered which provides for the gradual development of the intellect as well as for physical, social and emotional growth. Included in our daily curriculum are math, science, singing/music, geography, Spanish and reading and writing preparation. We practice yoga once per week on varying days. We give individual lessons and there are both large and small group experiences so that children become used to any style of teaching in subsequent “mainstream” schools. Most of the work is “hands-on” using our Montessori equipment so very little paper work will be brought home.
