We welcome children of all abilities, with the commitment to provide quality care and education to each child. We believe every child is a unique individual with varying needs, and we welcome the diversity that brings to our centers. All children and families deserve to be full members of their communities, to have the opportunity for development and learning, and to experience a sense of belonging. Our center at UCAR supports inclusion by providing access to our world-class curriculum programs, embracing inclusive participation in our programs, and offering support to our educators through training and consultation by our Education and Inclusion Services teams. Inclusion is not just a strategy for helping certain children overcome challenges; inclusion is a way of life at our center.

Teachers & Staff

Our Center at UCAR takes pride in knowing it is teachers working with children every day who make our program as strong as it can be, and who set the foundation for children’s learning and development. Our team is committed to providing the best care and education to your child. We partner with each family to ensure every child is getting the individualized care they deserve. We are lucky to have highly-qualified, dedicated, and loving teachers who truly are passionate about early childhood education and children.

Health & Safety

Upholding a safe and secure environment is of utmost importance to CCLC at UCAR. There is a keypad entry at the front door. The code is changed periodically throughout the year. The outdoor play areas are fenced with secure locks. All staff receive CPR and First Aid training. ID's are checked at the front door if someone new is picking up a child. There are cameras on both playgrounds as well as overlooking the front door. Staff use walkie talkies to communicate with indoor staff during outside play periods.

This center has NAEYC accreditation. National Association for the Education of Young Children is the world's largest organization working on behalf of young children. NAEYC established a national, voluntary accreditation system to set professional standards for early childhood education programs and to help families identify high-quality programs. The NAEYC Accreditation Criteria address all aspects of an early childhood program, including interactions among teachers and children, curriculum, interactions among teachers and families, administration, staff qualifications and professional development, staffing patterns, physical environment, health and safety, nutrition and food service, and program evaluation.
