Mission To fully prepare your child for kindergarten, in a small group setting. Description Welcome to Little Treasures School. Since our inception in 1995, we have had the philosophy that children benefit the most from being involved in a small group setting. We believe that this environment fosters the most learning, growth and development. Our small groups permit the feeling of family in an educational setting. * We have a 5 Star Child Care License * We have limited class sizes to allow focused learning on an individual basis * We have a playground on 1 1/2 acres of a park-like atmosphere * We have age-specific curriculum to cover a wide range of topics * We help your child to be fully prepared for kindergarten after completing our curriculum The majority of our teachers have 4 year degrees or higher in education while our other teachers are working on degrees or towards the NC Early Childhood Credentials I and II. Each teacher is encouraged to stay abreast of current research within Early Childhood Education through professional journals and workshops. Many of our teachers continue their formal education each year. In addition, all staff members are: * Criminal history checked * Fingerprinted * Tested for TB * Annually certified in CPR and Emergency First Aid * Formally evaluated monthly and annually We believe in having pets as part of our program to help children learn about the care and needs of various animals. This is part of the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy, which allows for "hands on" learning. We've had rabbits, sheep, goats and chickens through the years of operation.
