Hi parents, thank you for your interest in Shady Grove Children's Place, my licensed family child care and preschool program in Derwood - Rockville, MD. My home-based daycare is located in the Westside at Shady Grove Metro neighborhood, right off Crabbs Branch Way and Shady Grove Rd. Your daily commute to work will be very convenient since I’m less than 5 minutes’ drive from Frederick Rd (route 355) and the I-370.

About Me:
I’m the owner and main caregiver of this nurturing and high-quality child care and early education program. I’m a licensed provider with 12 years of experience and CPR & First-aid certification, so you be sure that your little one is safe with me at all times.
As a mom myself, I know how difficult it is for you to leave your child to someone you barely know. However, if you choose me, I’ll make sure to treat your kids as if they were my own and provide them plenty of individualized attention. I want you to have peace of mind while you’re away working and know that your little one is in safe hands.
Program:
Shady Grove Children's Place is open throughout the year from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I offer full-time and part-time infant care, toddler care and preschool for children ages 0 to 12 years old. I also offer drop-in care for occasional needs, and can also care for children with special needs.
I provide snacks to all kids attending my program (included in the tuition). My daycare is a peanut-free and tree-nut free environment to prevent any possible allergies. In addition to English, I also speak Arabic and upon request, I can teach your child this foreign language (though my daycare is not a fully bilingual program).
Curriculum:
My curriculum is age-appropriate, so activities depend on the age of the kids. For infants, we practice tummy time, crawling, pulling up, and singing. For toddlers, I engage them in craft projects and we play outside twice a day if the weather is nice. I have a great selection of books, puzzles, and blocks. I also have activity sets that encourage fine motor skills like matching numbers, shapes, and colors.

She is a fantastic caregiver for our 1 year old son. It is clear that she cares deeply about making sure that he has what he needs each day and feels loved. We have been grateful for the experience that she has provided us. We highly recommend her and her daycare!

I loveeee this provider and her staff ! i was so nervous about putting my baby in daycare when I went back to work but they made me feel like I shouldn’t have felt that way in the first place ! They show so much love and care to my baby and I can tell my baby really loves them !

I am so happy with the sevice she has provided. she was the first care giver I've ever left my baby with. My baby is alway so happy and ready to jump into her arms at drop off (My little girl loves them).
She always keeps me updated with what's happening with my baby, which is very important to me as 1st time mom. She has been very kind and is always easy to communicate with.

My son went to this daycare for about a year and I wish he could have stayed longer. She loved him like he was her own and I appreciated so much how much she cared for him. My son always had a great time and was able to grow and learn at the same time. Highly recommend!

She came highly recommended through a friend and she has been nothing short of amazing! She has truly cared for my son as her own, she provides a center where children can interact, learn, and enjoy the outdoors. She sends updates and photos during the day so I can see how much fun my little guy is having. I highly recommend her for someone searching for a caring, loving caretaker.

We have been with this daycare since my daughter was 5 months old, she is now 3. The owner is an extremely thoughtful & responsible caretaker for my daughter. She sees the importance in teaching the kids their basic numbers, letters and speech and supports my daughter in each of her transitions like bottle to food, crib to napmat and diapers to potty training!

I don't know what I would do without Ms. L. ALL 3 of my kids have been there. My oldest child has transitioned to Pre K and he was more than ready when it comes to structured learning in a school setting.
