Welcome to Sunshine Family Child Care, my in-home daycare in Gaithersburg, MD! I am Swapna Potdar, a mother with 5 years of child care experience. I am CPR and first-aid certified, as well as MAT trained (so I can administer medication to your child if need). I hold a Bachelor’s degree in History and before opening my own daycare, I worked at another licensed daycare and preschool for 5 years. Program: My family child care program is open from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I provide full-time and part-time day care for infants as young as 2 weeks, and toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. I also serve peanut-free and tree-nut lunch and snacks to the children in my care (included in the tuition and I'm also part of USDA Food Program). Curriculum: Sunshine Family Child Care is committed to providing high quality child care and early education. I follow the play-based early learning approach since my motto in teaching is "learn as you play", with a focus on stimulating children towards self-initiatives. I also encourage healthy interactions amongst kids and develop cognitive skills utilizing our age-appropriate learning materials and equipment. My home daycare is in the Kentlands neighborhood of Gaithersburg (near Whole Foods and Lowe's at the Kentlands Market Square).
