We are state-of-the-art facility that was recently renovated in 2014 and we are nestled in an upscale residential neighborhood, just minutes from the Medical Center and Downtown. We are a gated and secured facility with security cameras in operation 24/7. Our center includes 8,000 square feet of outside playground, 5 private, commercial, fully tiled bathrooms, 2 separate and fully stocked kitchen areas, one for the infants room and one for the toddler and pre-k room, and large windows throughout the center overlooking natural surroundings.
We have 4 separate pods in our infant rooms and they are divided up based on ages of the infants or their developmental stages. Our Beginner's pod is 6 weeks-6 months; the Wobbler's are 6 months-9 months; the Cruiser's are 9 months- 12 months and the Explorer's are 12 months- 17 months. Each pod has their two teachers and is equipped with their own diaper changing area, refrigerator, bottle warmer and microwave. Each infant has their own crib labeled with their name so there is no crib sharing, and we provide all the sheets which we take home to wash and all the cribs are sanitized on Fridays.
The infants implement a curriculum that helps support the different stages of development for each infant. Each week includes a new theme which their art is centered around; a new sign language sign; the shape and letter of the week, tummy time and sensory activities; stroller rides outside and music time!
Our Young Toddler room is 17 months-24 months and has two teachers. They have their own set of cubbies to store each child's belongings and mats for nap time. We provide the mats and sheets which we take home to wash, as well as sanitizing all the mats. They have their own diaper changing area with a sink to wash hands.
The Early Leaners are our 2's and 3's children and they have their own classroom learning environment with access to three different bathrooms for POTTY PRACTICE! They have a set of cubbies and do share the kitchen area with the Young Toddlers. Both rooms are learning through our specialized STEAM curriculum which is learning hands-on through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. Each room has their own schedule that they follow which includes circle time, out door play, technology time, nap time, lunch, literacy learning, music time, art, science experiments, fine motor activities and much, much more!
All of our teachers are CPR and First Aid certified, go through a background and fingerprinting check and must have had previous childcare experience. Most of the teachers are moms themselves and have the experience of the developmental stages that is needed for each child.
The Director, Marina Tecson, has been with the facility since it opened in December 2014. She started with two children and MDCC currently has 44 children enrolled! She has a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies; was an Early Childhood teacher for three years; then an assistant director at a childcare facility in Sugar Land, and then came to MDCC in December. She currently holds her Administrator's certificate in Childcare Administration, knowledgeable on Minimum Standards of Texas childcare licensing, and is CPR and First Aid certified. She has a 2 year old son and a 7 month old daughter who are both currently part of the MDCC family.
We are open Monday - Friday from 6:30 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. and we give tours by appointment only Monday - Friday 9:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M so that you can meet the teachers, see the classrooms and watch our program in action.
