About Me
Hello parents! Welcome to Sandy Spring Playhouse, my licensed daycare in Laurel, MD. I’m the owner and main caregiver of this small home-based child care and preschool program. I’m a mother of 2 children, and before opening my own daycare, I worked both in a child care center here in Laurel and a smaller home daycare in Columbia, MD.
In addition to my 5 years of child care experience, I was also an Elementary School teacher in Cambodia. I hold an Early Childhood Education Associate’s degree and an Associate’s degree in teaching from Cambodia. I am also CPR & First Aid certified, as well as MAT certified (Medication Administration Training).
My Daycare
I run a small family childcare program offering full-time and part-time daycare. Sandy Spring Playhouse welcomes infants as young as 2 months, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. My hours of operation are Monday through Friday, between 7 am and 6 pm.
Snacks are included in the tuition and are peanut-free and tree nut-free (I have experience working with children who have food allergies). In addition to English, I speak fluent Cambodian (Khmer) and can teach your child (upon parents’ request, I can offer a Bilingual Cambodian child care program.)

I absolutely love and adore this family child care. I would recommend it 100% over and over again. This provider is one of the kindest and most generous people I’ve ever met, and your child will truly be in great hands. My oldest still looks forward to visiting every time we go to pick up his little brother. Don’t hesitate to enroll— you will not regret it.

The caregiver is the sweetest! She's very passionate about what she does with the kids. My son adores her. She's patient with him and genuinely cares. He looks forward to going to daycare everyday.

I am happy that we found this child care. Her daycare is always clean and well organized, and she is very good with all of the kids. I like how she does different activities throughout the day with the kids like exercise/dance, ABCs, shapes and songs. My daughter can be a very picky eater at home, but when she is here, she is able to get her to eat her lunch. I would recommend this child care, two thumbs up.

My son has thrived so much under this caretaker's attentive care! Prior to joining the daycare, my son regularly sees an occupational therapist to help him meet his milestones, and since he has been at the daycare, he has developmentally grown in leaps and bounds. I highly recommend this daycare!

We absolutely adore this provider! We have had the pleasure to have her care for not only our son from 3 months to 3 years old (he is now 7) but now our 2.5 year old daughter as well and who she has had for a few months now. This daycare is amazing. I needed to put my child in daycare at 4 months because I was returning to work. That was difficult for me but from day 1, the caregiver made the adjustment and transition extremely easy. She is kind and caring and very attentive to my child’s needs. it a wonderful place that I trusted for my son being there! My kids love this daycare and she goes above and beyond to make sure kids are healthy and have fun!
I send my son to school with educational workbooks and he completes them daily.
The facility is clean and the meals are healthy and satisfying.

My baby loves this daycare! I was extremely nervous putting y 5 month old in daycare but she adjusted well and now loves it. All the other kids are good too and it makes a very pleasant environment for my baby.

This provider is one of the best tutor and caretaker we have come across. My daughter was very fond of her and she looked after her as her own daughter. The daycare was clean and very friendly. She knows what is right and wrong for kids. She was also a nutritionist. Best choice we ever made was to choose this daycare. She teaches everything the kid of their age should know about.

I had a hard time finding a place I felt comfortable leaving my son. From the moment this provider opened the door he was hooked, which was very surprising as he is usually a no nonsesense baby. I shared my previous bad experience with her and she assured he would be cared for like family that was almost 1 year ago. She has not disappointed. Her patience and kindness with teaching is a relief. I never feel worried when he is with her.

This provider is very patient with the kids. My child was shy when she first got there but this provider is very patient with her and she can’t stop talking about this provider when she gets home. She has also started singing a lot more songs that she learned at the daycare as well. Happy to have found this provider for our child care needs.

I am so glad I found this daycare provider for my daughter. She is simply amazing. My daughter started going to her when she was 2 years and a half which was six months ago. This provider is amazing! Her daycare is clean and well organized, it is a nice home feel. She has a great layout, with a separate sleeping area for the infants/toddlers. She will work with you to feel comfortable, and you feel like you are leaving your kid with someone you can really trust. Being a first time mom, she made the transition to daycare as easy as it could possibly be!
