Training children through home and school to know God and serve Him all their days. Los Altos Brethren School was founded in 1972. Our preschool was established first, followed by our kindergarten and then our elementary school. The school has been at its original location since its inception. Our school has a long and distinguished history of serving the community and of providing a solid, well-rounded education for children. A great number of our graduates have gone on to excel at both the high school and college levels, and have become respected members of their professions and communities. Perhaps the ultimate reflection on our school’s success is that former graduates are now bringing their own children to be educated and nurtured at our school. Our school offers a preschool program (Pre K3 & 4), kindergarten and elementary program (1st-6th grades) with a strong academic curriculum based on a developmentally appropriate philosophy. All teaching is based upon God’s Word, the Bible, and students are encouraged to apply its principles to their own lives. A key advantage of having the preschool, kindergarten, and elementary school on the same campus is that the older students value school traditions and take responsibility for helping younger children. The relatively small enrollment enables our students to make and maintain connections with their peers and students in other grades, as well as faculty and staff. All instruction is provided by qualified, experienced, and dedicated Christian teachers who strive to impart knowledge that is academically sound and Biblically based. Students learn of the Bible’s relevancy not only to subjects studied, but—more importantly—to their daily lives. With our small class sizes and experienced teachers, students receive lots of individual attention.
