As one of the nine Child Development Centers of the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), we provide a hands-on learning experience for children in the community and fieldwork opportunities for students from the Child Development, Psychology, and Nursing departments. While providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow in experience and self-esteem, our center promotes access to higher education for parents by providing childcare at no or low cost for qualifying families.
We believe that the best way to serve children and families is to care for children with respect. The development of the child is enhanced in a partnership with the child’s home, school, and community. Parents are respected as the most significant adult(s) in a child’s life. We believe that each child is an individual, special and unique. As a result, children learn best in a positive atmosphere designed to foster positive self-esteem. The center’s approach & mission to quality education is based on the belief that young children learn best through carefully organized environments based on children’s interests and developmental needs.
