The Manchester Co-Op Preschool is a place for children to learn and socialize through play and exploration. The child-initiated learning projects embrace the excellence of Montessori style learning with a hands-on approach. The classroom is both functional and beautiful and blends some of the most inspiring programs that early childhood education has to offer. Here at MCP, we believe in the idea that our classroom is the Childrens House. The children are encouraged to initiate lessons, direct play and create and care for their own learning environment. Children attend school at the same time and we design our program to meet the age appropriate needs of every individual child (3 to 5 years of age). These age groups have opportunities to work together during the day to enrich their learning process. Learning groups are determined based upon ongoing assessments and observations; this gives our students the opportunity to grow at their own pace. Our teachers are always engaged in learning moments and available to facilitate and guide interactions. The teachers are on the floor working with the children through play and socialization throughout the day. We have 2 teachers in the classroom at all times. Mrs. Brandi has been with the Manchester Co-Op for 5 years and has taught preschool for 13 years. Ms. Kim has taught preschool for 7 years and has been with the Manchester Co-op for 2 years.
