My views on early childhood education start with the unique qualities and potential of each child as an individual. Providing children with opportunities in a nurturing environment will foster each child developmental growth. Children should be allowed the opportunity to express their creativity in all area of learning centers set up in the classroom. Classrooms should include age appropriate toys, furniture should be at child’s level for easy accessibilities, and colors that are chosen to decorate the room can be encouraging to the child when they play throughout the classroom. “For example” decorating the art area with the children owns work will motivate them to do more. In the reading area, wall colors should be earth tone colors, more calm colors. Such as tan, light brown, olive green etc. I believe that colors in the classroom helps children identify the quiet areas from more active area.
