Hello, my name is Dawn Hollenczer, also known as “Ms. Dawn” to all the children that I have in child care. I am happily married to my husband, David, and we have two beautiful daughters, Alexandra and Rachel. We have three indoor cats, "Marshmallow", "Baby", and "Lilo"; and two guinea pigs, "Twinkie" and "Tinkerbell". I have been a Registered Family Child Care Provider since 1998. What began as being a “Working Mother” (Former Hospital Administrator of a Veterinary Practice), wanting to stay home with my own children, has become an important career of enriching the lives of other children and their families. My Philosophy: In today’s world, the busy family has many options when it comes to child care. I believe Family Child Care is important because it keeps children in a “home like” atmosphere while providing them a safe and nurturing place to explore, learn, and grow; with more individualized attention, while parents/families are working. My Mission: I maintain a level of professionalism and take my job very seriously. I commit myself to providing quality child care with the use of programs that enhance early childhood education and development. Children are exposed to developmentally appropriate activities, learn in a creative, playful, and fun environment; and are encouraged to discover and express their own uniqueness, interests, and talents; which will help to build their self-esteem, confidence, a love of learning, and lasting friendships. I am a member of the Anne Arundel County Family Child Care Association, Inc. (AACFCCA, INC.), Maryland State Family Child Care Association (MSFCCA),The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC). I have acquired CPR & First Aid Certification, and SIDS Training. I am currently credentialed (Level 5) in the State of Maryland’s Child Care Credentialing Program. I have obtained a quality check level 5 for Maryland EXCELS-Quality Early Childhood and School Age Programs. I have also completed 90 clock hr. Preschool Certification, 45 clock hour Infants & Toddlers Development & Curriculum, and the Maryland Model for School Readiness (MMSR). I am Nationally Accredited with NAFCC. I am also in the process of earning a Teaching Degree in Early Childhood Education. I will always continue to strive to provide the best quality care for your child(ren).
