About

Oskaloosa Child Care offers a well rounded education geared toward each individuals needs. We include emotional and physical boundaries, language, reading, writing, arithmetic, science, geography, history, music, dance, art, drama, cooking, gardening, physical education, healthy eating habits, daily hygiene (including teeth brushing after meals), research, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, milestones and a glance at career choices. Oskaloosa Child Care has 7 rooms and a back play yard for the children to utilize throughout the day. We are also located within walking distance to the Oskaloosa Public Library, ice cream parlor, bakery, park, softball field, swimming pool. These off site field trips are at the discretion of the parents enrolling their children and how big they want their child's world to be. I, Deanna Lyon, will be your child's main provider. I have been babysitting since I was 9 years old. When I was 19, I became a professional nanny. I have cared for up to ten children at one time with ages raging from premature to 105. (At age 18, I worked at an assisted living facility as a CNA.) My education has been geared toward mathematics and science. I have obtained credits from Gibson Technical, Missouri State University, Mira Costa College, Austin Community College, Johnson Community College, Red Cross and KDHE approved child care courses. I believe education is a life long process.

Deanna was a nanny in our home in Texas from the time my daughter was 14 weeks to 2.5. We love her. She taught Mira letters, numbers, geography, sight words, music and art. We trusted her and never worried when Mira was with her. We still miss her!
