I would like to welcome you to the Friendship Christian School!! As I start my 8th year at FCS, I would like to tell you what I am thankful for here at FCS. I am thankful for a supporting ministry, Friendship Baptist Church, that believes in producing life-long learners, enriching students' lives and creating disciples of Christ. I serve under the President of FCS, Bob Vradenburgh, and a school board that is committed to the success of FCS. I am thankful that families from over 74 churches have entrusted us with their child's education. I believe we continue to foster interactive and supportive partnerships with our students and families. We have a thriving parent association that is involved in helping us through volunteer opportunities and in many other ways. We have taken the time to listen to them through surveys and strategic planning meetings and together have built a compassionate community where knowledge is pursued with excellence, where faith is rooted in Christ, and where character is exemplified through service. I am thankful for colleagues that are called to the field of Christian education. Our teachers are a "living curriculum." This is not just a slogan around here, but a reality. Because of their commitment to Christ first, our teachers are able to nurture, challenge and equip the students to reach their full potential academically. They work endlessly to help students develop critical thinking skills, effectively apply acquired knowledge, prepare for the challenges of the 21st century - all at the student's individual ability level. I am thankful that students are able to participate in a variety of fine arts and athletic opportunities. It is important for them to enrich their lives by developing skills that they can use for a lifetime. Our size allows many students this privilege.
