About

Welcome to the Saugus Union School District Child Development Programs (CDP). Our goal is to serve parents who need before and after school child care for their elementary school students and/or preschool for their 3 and 4 year old children. We are dedicated to providing an enriching, safe, and nurturing environment and to help all children feel successful. Our Before and After School Program is offered to any child who attends an elementary school in the Saugus Union School District in grades Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten through 6th grade at their school of attendance. We provide a variety of high quality activities and experiences bridging home and school and extending children's learning. The daily program consists of organized activities that include: enrichment, engaging and creative indoor activities, outdoor physical fitness activities, dedicated homework time, and a nutritious snack. SUSD Before and After School Program is a 10 month tuition-based program. The Before and After School Program located on the Cedarcreek Elementary School campus offers Cedarcreek students a reduced tuition rate because of grant funding through the California Department of Education's After-School Education and Safety Grant (ASES). Cedarcreek families enrolled in the ASES Program pay a monthly investment fee and must adhere to all grant requirements. Our Preschool Programs (Fun for Threes and Fours) serve children who reach 4 years of age by September 1st of the current school year. If space permits, children who reach 3 years old by September 1st of the current school year may also be enrolled at some locations. All of our preschool programs (Half-Day Preschool Program, Emblem & Rosedell Full-Day Preschool Programs, LAUP, CSPP) are designed to provide developmentally appropriate experiences through a comprehensive pre-kindergarten curriculum, OWL (Opening the World of Learning). OWL prepares children for Kindergarten through playful, purposeful, and personalized instruction. SUSD Preschool Programs are 10 month tuition-based programs. Preschool Programs (CSPP/State Preschool) located on the Cedarcreek Elementary and Rio Vista Elementary campuses offers low-income families, who reside within the SUSD attendance boundaries, a tuition-free preschool program because of state funding. Cedarcreek and Rio Vista families enrolled in CSPP must adhere to all eligibility requirements. Our Summer Fun Programs are open to all incoming Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten through incoming 6th grade children, and 3 and 4 year old preschool children at Emblem Full-Day Preschool. The Summer Fun Programs offer a variety of camp activities including crafts, games, science experiments, physical fitness, and other enrichment activities based around weekly themes. Field trips are available at an additional cost. SUSD Summer Fun Programs are tuition-based and registration is separate from the 10 month Before and After School Program and Preschool Programs. Registration is an online process. For information, please contact the Child Development Program at your school of residence (please see below).
