Welcome to Dalewood Kiddie House, our licensed home daycare and preschool in Silver Spring, MD. We’re located in the Connecticut Avenue Estate neighborhood, near the Dalewood playground. We're just a minute drive away from Connecticut Ave (route 185) and Veirs Mill Rd (route 586). We also have easy access to Randolph Rd and Georgia Ave (route 97), so your daily commute to work will be convenient!
About Us:
I’m the owner and main caregiver and I have almost a decade of child care and early childhood education experience. I’m a mom of 2 with CPR & First-aid certifications and an Associate's Degree in Early Childcare. Our daycare creates a comfortable atmosphere where parents can feel safe and assured that their children will be well taken care of. Our daycare feels like a home away from home and offers a very nurturing environment for children.
Curriculum:
Dalewood Kiddie House follows the play-based learning approach, allowing kids to learn through play. We read with children, and learn the letters of the alphabet, numbers, colors, and shapes. We also do various fun and educational activities, such as identifying different animals visually and with their voices as well.
We enjoy outdoor craft projects and nature exploration activities. When we go outside, we search for materials to use in our projects. After returning indoors, we gather for a show and tell session, where everyone shares their discoveries and creations from our outdoor adventures.
There’s a nearby community playground where the children can play outside, and we have outdoor fun every day if the weather permits.
Our Program:
Dalewood Kiddie House is open all throughout the year from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Mondays to Fridays. We provide full-time and part-time care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers between the age of 6 weeks and 5 years old. To prevent possible allergies, we maintain a peanut and tree-nut free environment.
Our Facility:
Our daycare is very bright and clean, with plenty of toys for children of all ages. We have a spacious area where children can play, and our facility is well-decorated with many colorful posters and artwork. We have organized bins for toys, puzzles, blocks, and flashcards, and there is a library of books for circle time.

We have loved our experience here. Our boys are well cared for. They are all smiles everyday when we pick them up. Communication is wonderful. We are so thankful we found this daycare!

Our has been attending this daycare for almost a year now. The owner is wonderful. Our son loves her and she takes such good care of him (and all the kids)! She takes them to the playground every day, plans educational activities, and has helped our son meet his major physical milestones (sitting/crawling/etc.). I cannot say enough good things about her and we are so grateful for her!

She was such a wonderful caregiver to our baby, who started at 5 months old and stayed for about a year. My daughter loves her, and it was clear my baby was in a safe, clean and caring environment. We loved sending our toddler (2 years old) to this daycare! High Quality Consistent Care at an Affordable Price and Convenient location. We absolutely love her -- both my children (1 and 3) are there now and they happily rush in when we drop them off and my son (1 year old) is reluctant to give up his hugs when I pick them up-- their obvious comfort and love for her make it so much easier to be away from them during the day. This provider provided wonderful care of our son, Gus until he was 18 months. She had a great curriculum for the kids and a wide variety of toys and books. Because of her, our son learned to love books, tried more foods and flourished. She could always get him to eat more foods at her house than ours, and talk more there as well. She taught him manners and right from wrong. It was a wonderful experience, plus she lived next door to a park!

This owner provided the highest level of care we could ask for, she is warm, loving and kind. We never had to worry about our son, who was with her from 3-21 months. She was the best caregiver we could have asked for, she even threw him a birthday party. She provided a great environment where our son thrived, it was joy to have her as part of our lives.
