About Us:
Highland Woods Kids Playhouse is a licensed home daycare and preschool in Silver Spring, MD. I’m the owner of this bilingual Spanish daycare and I run my program with my full-time assistant. I’m a professional caregiver with a decade of child care and early childhood education experience, and my assistant has 8 years of experience. We’re both moms and we’re CPR & First-aid certified, as well M.A.T trained (so if needed, we can administer medication to all children in our care). We also both hold a Child Development Associate’s Degree.
Curriculum:
We use the Creative Curriculum and offer various engaging educational activities such as Arts & Crafts, Music, etc. We want our little students to learn through play and fun, creative activities so that they're happy while learning and growing in our care. Our daycare is a bilingual Spanish program, so we teach our students the Spanish language. This is an amazing opportunity for your child to learn a second language at a young age!
Program:
Our family child care program is open year-round from Monday to Friday, between 7:00 am and 5:30 pm. We provide full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 3 months, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old, including children with special needs. Our children are served with peanut-free lunch and snacks, and these are all included in the tuition.
Location:
Highland Woods Kids Playhouse is located in the Highland Woods neighborhood, near Kingswell in Silver Spring, MD. We’re right off Randolph Rd, close to Highland Elementary School and Glenmont Local Park. Your commute to work will be convenient since our facility has easy access to Veirs Mill Rd (route 586), Connecticut Ave (route 185) and Georgia Ave (route 97).

This Family Child Care Program is the best. My daughter has been with the child care since she was 2 months old and is now 3 years old, well trained, smart and developing excellently. The kids are very safe there and the caregivers are really exceptional.

We love this family daycare. Our daughter was 5 months old when she started and she has loved it ever since her first day. They do a great job mixing indoor and outdoor play. There are plenty of toys for them to play with independently as well as organized activities throughout the day. I really could not say enough good things about this daycare!

My daughter loves going to this daycare every day of the week. She is visibly happy when we arrive here, and as a parent it is comforting and reassuring to know that your child is excited about the day ahead. This daycare is simply a safe and happy place.

She is so amazing!! my son has been there for about 3 months and he is loving it. He is already singing his ABC’s and numbers in Spanish and English. I really love her and her assistant too they are amazing teachers. I really recommend her!!

This is a phenomenal daycare provider and would recommend her to care for any child. The provider and her assistant teacher, show much care towards each child. The providers are amazing at what they do. It is already a difficult decision to send a child to daycare, and during a pandemic, it becomes more difficult. This child care is the second daycare we put our twin girls in since moving to DC. The choice to change was hard, but it ended up being the best decision we have made so far with the girls.
