Welcome to Matthew Henson Park Family Daycare, my licensed family child care and preschool program in Silver Spring, MD. My daycare is located in Conn Ave Park community, near Matthew Henson State Park. Your commute to work will be very convenient since I’m just 2 minutes’ drive away from Connecticut Ave (route 185) and have easy access to Veirs Mills Rd (route 586) and Parkland Dr.
About Me:
I’m the owner and main caregiver and I have more than 6 years of experience in child care and early childhood education. I’m also CPR & First-aid certified, so you can be sure that your child is always safe under my care. I help families in the area by offering nurturing care and a quality preschool program at an affordable rate. My daycare is a fun learning environment where your child can blossom and have fun.
Program:
Matthew Henson Park Family Daycare is open all year-round from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I can accommodate full-time and part-time care for kids between the age of 6 weeks and 6 years old. I can also accept school-age kids and provide before and after school care.
At my daycare, I follow a routine that includes all important activities for young children. By following a schedule, children will have a structured daily routine that will make them feel comfortable in our learning environment.
6:00AM to 8:30AM: Free play time
8:30AM to 9:00AM: Diaper change time and cleaning
9:00AM to 9:30AM: Breakfast
9:30AM to 10:00AM: Clean up
10:00AM to 11:00AM: Circle time
11:00AM to 12:00PM: Art time, make decorations
12:00PM to 1:30PM: Lunch time
1:30PM to 3:30PM: Nap time
3:30PM to 4:00PM: Diaper change
4:00PM to 4:30PM: Snack time
4:30PM to 5:30PM: Start reading books, new words, etc.
In addition to the activities outlined above, I teach the kids months, days of the week, colors, and the five senses. We also learn how to identify emotions, so they could communicate with their peers and caregivers effectively.

I cannot say enough good things about this provider and the care that my daughter Lucy is receiving while there. My daughter started when she was 4 months old and as a first time mother, I was so sad about not being with her everyday. It is amazing to see our child get excited when we knock o the door in the morning! We know that he is being taken care of by someone who treats him like family. He's smiling when we pick him up and always seems to have something new to share: words, shapes, art work, or even just big smiles!

We could not be happier with the care and love our son receives here! The hardest thing a parent can do is leave their child with someone else. However, my husband and I feel so happy with our decision here. Michael has been going here since he was 4 months old (now 13 months) and we feel so good about our decision. He gets so excited when we drop him off-which make us feel great!

My daughter loves this daycare! She has been going since she was 8 months old and is 14 months now. She has learned so much. Ms. S is wonderful and truly cares about the children.
