Creative Preschool For Our Creative Preschool Families: Inclement Weather Closing and Delays Creative Preschool follows the delayed opening and school closing procedures set forth by the Prince William County Schools. Depending on the severity of the weather and possibility of hazardous road conditions the Preschool may open late, close early or not open at all. Creative Preschool Program Registration for the Creative Preschool 2015/2016 School year opens Tuesday, February 17, for LRPRA members and Monday, March 2, for non LRPRA members. The Explorers class is appropriate for children 3 years of age by September 30, 2015 and are potty trained. The Pre K class is appropriate for children 4 years of age by September 30, 2015 and are potty trained. The registration form may be found here: Creative Preschool Registration Form For almost 20 years the Lake Ridge Association has sponsored the Creative Preschool. We believe that every child is an individual and theemphasis is on his or her physical, social and intellectual development. We provide a quality learning environment that will help your child begin to realize his or her own potential. Our instructor to student ratio is 1:8. It is our goal that through the daily activities your children are involved in, they will grow and have a positive attitude about themselves and their relationships with others. The school calendar runs from September - June and follows the Prince William County Public Schools for holidays and snow closings. Registration for all classes is ongoing throughout the school year. We maintain a waiting list and students are enrolled on a space available basis. Each class follows a general daily schedule that includes: circle time, center play, project time, outside or active play, lunch, music, learning activity and dismissal Our Preschool is unique The day is longer allowing your child to experience arealistic day in a classroom environment Computers are in the classrooms with time each day for the childrento learn Our centers include home life, art, puzzles, building, cognitiveand manipulative center and a library. Access to Lake Ridge Association amenities Half hour of outside play each day at our on-site playground Low 1:8 Teacher to student ratio The 3-4 Year Old Explorers class is designed for children,who are at least 3 years old, completely toilet trained and ready to explore a classroom environment. Students are introduced to activities including counting and the alphabet, cutting and gluing, circle times, organized play and identifying their names. Field trips begin in early January and include visits to the pet store, grocery store and post office. The Pre-K classes are appropriate for children who will be attending Kindergarten the following year. As part of the early literacy program students concentrate on writing their first and last names, identifying letters and counting during every day activities. Each day includes creative activities that emphasize fine and gross motor skills. Field trips begin in September and include trips to the Police Station, Library and a Kindergarten classroom. The children perform a Winter Program in January for friends and family. The school year culminates with a cap and gown graduation held in June. Summer Day Camp for Ages 6 - 12 Camp Dates / Times: June 22 - August 14, 2015 Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5 PM The camp is designed to promote leadership, teamwork and fellowship. Through our program, each camper will experience meaningful and diverse activities. Each week the events are built around a special theme. Campers will enjoy a structured environment featuring a weekly field trip, arts and crafts, active and quiet games and pool time. Each day follows a general daily schedule of quiet games, group activities, snacks, pool time, lunch, more pool time, arts & crafts. Lake Ridge Association Summer Day Camp is a licensed program through the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Social Services. The registration form may be found here: 2015 Summer Camp Registration Form. Reserve your camp week(s) with a non-refundable deposit of $50 per week. (For example: to reserve one week of camp requires at minimum a deposit of $50. If the camp week is canceled the $50 is not refunded.) The deposit will go towards the weekly camp fee which must be paid in full prior to your child attending camp.
