About

Aletheia McCaskill is a licensed family child care provider in Baltimore, MD. Aletheia Mccaskill cares for children as young as 12 weeks through 12 years old. About Us: Tender Tots is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. We are committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. We have created an environment filled with patience towards the understanding of your child's needs. We encourage positive goals and help develop self-esteem and awareness. We have extensive experience with children with special needs including gestational tubing (feeding tube), mild-severe handicaps, apnea monitors, behavior disorders & speech/physical challenges. We welcome outside programs such as Maryland Infant and Toddler Program to aid in the full potential of our children. I'm Aletheia McCaskill. Many call me, "Miss Pooh", an old childhood name & easier for the children to pronounce. I have been married for almost 20 years & the very proud mother of 2 very special young ladies. I have my Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and my Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Development, Magna Cum Laude. After 7 years of serving in the private work sector as a computer analyst/programmer, I diligently began serving the child care community. It has been a wonderful journey for the past 17 years. I am an active member of NAFCC (National Association for Family Child Care), SEIU, Local 500-Child Care Division [currently serving as a Leader on Bargaining Committee and as Chairwoman, Baltimore City/County Regional C.O.P.E.], Level 6 of Maryland Child Care Credential, Maryland EXCELS, Certified in Emergency and Disaster Preparedness and I provide support services & child care to local homeless shelters several days a week. I truly believe that it takes a village/community to raise a child. I commend the curious child. Self-discovery and building social skills are as equally important as learning the fundamentals of reading, writing and math. My passion for early child care doesn't stop here at daycare. I love mentoring & my newest adventures are advancing state government policies that pertain to early learning/child development & writing children's books (only in the mental process for now). My philosophy of education is extensive. In the largest sense, I believe education serves many purposes. It builds character & connects us to the unknown. Yes, to some degree, education can lead to financial prosperity. But, the measure of wealth can only be defined by an individual's character. Please send an email for more information.
