We have a Health and Safety Coordinator, Ms. Lauren who has been with us for Three years. She ensures all safety guidelines are followed daily. We offer a secure keypad entry, signing in/out system, high fenced-in playground area and all staff are First Aid and CPR trained and certified.

Bryant Woods Montessori Children’s House is an independent, non-profit school which is committed to educating the 3 to 6 year old child from diverse backgrounds. Our school promotes joy in learning and positive character development as well as stimulating the intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth of the child through the implementation of the Montessori philosophy and methodology. We strive to promote the development of initiative, independence, responsibility, curiosity, cooperation and respect for self and others.. About Us: Bryant Woods Montessori Children’s House was established at the time of the city of Columbia’s founding in 1969. Our Staff: Our current staff comprises two Montessori Directresses one full-time Classroom Assistant and an Executive Director. At a minimum, the Executive Director and both Directresses hold Montessori certificates (AMS or AMI) and a bachelor’s degree. Please view our staff page for more in depth information about our staff. Class Size/Ratios: We have a classroom capacity of 28 students. During all three of our sessions (Morning Half-Day, Afternoon Half-Day, Full Day), we have two Montessori certified teachers and one classroom assistant who work to provide support to the classroom. Affiliations & Certifications: Our school is accredited with the American Montessori Society and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. We hold a Maryland State Board of Education Certificate and our Kindergarten program is certified by the Maryland State Department of Education. We are also a member of the Montessori Schools of Maryland. School Hours: Half-Day Morning session: 8:45 AM – 11:45 AM Half-Day Afternoon session: 12:45 PM – 3:45 PM Lunch Bunch: 11:45 AM – 12:45 PM (offered as an addition to the Half-Day sessions, space permitting) Full Day session: 8:45 AM – 3:45 PM, includes lunch and lightly structured group socialization activities from 11:45 to 12:45 and is available to the 4-6 year olds. We are open from 8:45am until 3:45pm and care for children as young as 3 years through 6 years old, including children with special needs. We offer both full time and part time child care. We also have private kindergarten and summer camp. Bryant Woods Montessori Children's House is a language immersion program. At a minimum, our teachers have a Bachelor's degree.
