God's Little Busy Bees
Welcome to God’s Little Busy Bees Family Childcare. I am credentialed with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and meet all Maryland Licensing requirements. By being part of the Maryland Excels Program, I have gone beyond the basic licensing requirement, and have received a Maryland Excels Quality 2 Rating. My family home environment allows me to provide small groups as well as individualized care in meeting developmental needs and milestones. My program focuses on the “Whole child” by having hands-on-activities that will promote each child’s cognitive, social/emotional, spiritual and physical growth and development. My program is a nurturing, safe, educational and fun learning environment, which includes a Creative Curriculum Philosophy, Biblical Principals, Sign Language, Spanish, Yoga, and Field Trips. The Infant/Toddler program focuses on Social/Emotional Development, Physical Development, Cognitive Development and Language Development. Within the Infant program, we provide formula, cereal, diapers/pull-ups and wipes. Parents are responsible for bringing in bottles and/or color-coded sippy cups filled with water. The Preschool program focus is on providing opportunities for the child to develop in the following areas: independence, social and emotional, cognitive, and physical development. We want to follow the child’s development in those areas in order for them to grow developmentally with their ages and stages of development. Materials are provided that will encourage the child to learn with hands-on activities. The After School program offers after school activities which promote the health and well being of the child. Activities are designed to encourage children to review homework, daily assignments, develop positive relations with other children and participate in activities that promote self esteem. After school students will have a variety of activities available: reading center, computers, games, arts and crafts, tutoring and a quiet area for studying. Students and Parents are encouraged to participate in developing after school program activities with the Teachers and Staff at O.P.C.C.C which conducts two annual Teacher-Parent Conferences a year to review their child's progress. During the conferences, the parents are able to review their child's portfolio to see their child's progression throughout the year. Our Precious Creations Child Care LLC uses Creative Curriculum, as well as Frog Street Curriculum. O.P.C.C.C provides AM snack, lunch and dinner daily, Monday through Sunday. St. Luke's Day School
St. Luke's Day School offers an environment that encourages curiosity and an awareness of the excitement of learning. St. Luke's Day School believes in the beauty, creativity and intelligence of a child's play. When singing, playing and adventuring, our students learn to have fun while participating in group activities and dynamics. The program is designed to help children develop habits of observation, questioning and listening. Children are encouraged to become aware of their feelings and to express them in an appropriate manner. Our program, with various learning activities and playtime, prepares the children to recognize and use their intellectual and creative abilities in future learning tasks. We base our curriculum on an initiative developed by the Virginia Department of Education called Virginia's Foundation Blocks for Early Learning. Look often into our busy, noisy, creative classrooms and see your child at work and play. Play is an important part of learning and creates the appropriate skill level for optimum learning to be achieved. Above all, we give them time to grow; time and room to explore; to experiment; and to discover. We offer them time to play… time to be a child. The children are introduced to a balanced program of interaction with friends in both teacher directed and child-directed experiences. The daily schedule includes free choice of time spent in the play area, circle activities for the group, Music class, Creative Movement class and a weekly chapel service. We are committed to working closely with parents toward the welfare of the whole family. Parents are welcome to visit during the child's time at school after checking in with the front office.
