Zarina's Family Child Care
I have been a family child care provider for the last 27 years. Prior to opening my daycare in Burtonsville, MD, I worked in a child care center as a pre-K teacher and group leader. I have a college degree in Child Psychology and Economics. During my professional career as a family childcare provider I have kept myself up to the highest standard for which I have taken many college credit courses (including 90 hrs C.D.A., MMSR - Maryland Model School Readiness). I have also attended numerous training classes over the years which helped me to become a truly accomplished child care professional. As mentioned above, I always try to hold the highest standard; it is because I never compete against anybody; I have my own standards and I compete against myself. To begin with, I set my own goals and standard way above others and try to achieve and surpass them with hard work, sincerity and confidence. It is a wonderful feeling to watch the children in my care enjoying their daily routine under my supervision. Taking care of my students has never been a job or as a business. It is my PASSION and MY PROFESSION which makes it the BEST REWARD anybody can ask for! My daycare located in Burtonsville, MD is a single family home. The daycare is bright, spacious with a breathtaking view from the backyard. In the back, it has a huge and open play area. It has more than two exits to be used in case of emergency. The daycare is easily accessible from Route 29, 495, 95 and 270 for those parents commuting to DC, Rockville, Bethesda, Columbia and Silver Spring.

Julia Brown Montessori School

At The Julia Brown Montessori Schools, we work with nature, not against it, in helping your child achieve his or her goal. Our program accepts the... endless energies, the creative impulses, and insatiable curiosities of the children and gradually directs their efforts into rewarding channels. Children have a strong natural desire to learn. This desire can best be nurtured by allowing the child to choose his or her own activities and to work at his or her own pace. No one can produce a better lesson schedule than the one produced by the child’s own interests. When they are ready for each step in their development, their enthusiasm for this part of the program is obvious. As an observer of one of our classes you find the children choosing their own work color box and busily pursuing their goals. Our quiet, calm classrooms are due to the students preoccupation with their work. Toddler Class We offer a modified, traditional Montessori program, 5 days/week, for our Toddlers: children ages 18 months through 2 years. The toddler environment is adapted to the physical and motor development needs of these younger students. In keeping with Montessori philosophy of promoting independence, we will assist your child with toilet training. Our basic toddler program is 9 am – 3 pm, but we also offer extended care hours (7 am – 6:30 pm). This program is currently available in our Olney, Silver Spring and Laurel locations. Our Primary program is for children ages 2 1/2 – 5 1/2. We offer morning classes from 8:30 AM – 11:15 AM or an afternoon class from 12:15 PM – 3:00 PM, 5-days a week. The children are introduced sequentially to the following five areas of the prepared environment: practical life, sensorial, language, math, and cultural. Self-esteem, concentration skills, and good work habits are developed as a result of this environment. Julia Brown Montessori School is a center. We care for children as young as 2 years through 5 years old. We offer full time care. To learn more, please call us or send us an email. Please be sure to mention that you found us on CareLuLu.
