Precious Little Ones Daycare
Welcome to Precious Little Ones Daycare, our beautiful home-based daycare and preschool in Suitland, MD. About Us I’m the owner and main caregiver/teacher and I have 15 years of experience in child care and early childhood education. I’m CPR and First-aid certified, as well as MAT trained so if needed, I can administer medication to all children in our care. Prior to opening my home daycare, I was a former DoD (Department of Defense) government worker with skills in management, administration, and budgeting. Like parents yourself, we want what is best for your child, so we always strive to maintain high-quality child care and early education. Our program offers a loving, nurturing, cozy and safe environment where every child can have fun while we help them reach their potential in all developmental areas such as physical, social, emotional, language and cognitive. Philosophy: Early years of a child's life is the best time to hone their personality and skills. We want our facility to be the place where every child can learn and grow, and develop their valuable skills. We always believe that learning should be fun, so we are committed to sustaining a happy and friendly environment for our students (this makes them excited to go to our daycare everyday!). Curriculum: Precious Little Ones Daycare uses the FunSteps Curriculum – an age-appropriate, a structured and development-based curriculum that aims to build a child’s confidence and teach them to be successful and lifelong learners. Our program also focuses on manners and gives emphasis on creative learning experiences such as arts, music, physical movement, and other educational, fun activities. We offer safe indoor and outdoor activities, so children are always engaged. On a daily basis, we teach our students the following subjects: Math & Science, Arts & Music, Computers, Reading and Writing and Physical Education. Program: Our daycare and preschool is open year-round from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. We provide full-time care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers between the age of 12 months and 5 years old, including the children with special needs. We also offer drop-in care for your occasional needs. Before and after school care are both available for school-age kids, up to 12 years old (we are close to Benjamin Foulois Academy and Imagine Foundation School, and we provide homework assistance). In the summer, we offer a fun summer camp program where children can make new friends and explore new things. We serve healthy nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snacks (already included in the tuition!). We make sure that we serve nutritionally balanced meals, so children are healthy and can learn effectively! All toys and equipment are cleaned and sanitized daily, and we teach children to wash their hands properly. Location Precious Little Ones Daycare is in the Morningside area of Suitland, MD. We are right off Suitland Rd, near Douglas Patterson Park. Your everyday commute will be hassle-free since my facility has easy access to Interstate 495, Forestville Rd and Suitland Pkwy. Thanks for taking the time to read our profile, please contact us to schedule a visit. We would love your little one to be part of our family :)
Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church Shining Stars
The history of Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church is one rooted in faith. Since moving from the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC to Fort Washington, Maryland in 1983, the church has taken many steps of faith, and God has blessed it exceedingly and abundantly. It is a tremendous story of hope. Some people call it “The Miracle on Allentown Road.” The Association of African Methodist Episcopal Scouts (AAMES) is a denominational Scouts Association recognized by the Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts United States of America. Scouting is one of the ministries of Christian Education in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Membership is comprised of individuals and AME congregations who support AAMES goals. Children’s Bible Study is an interactive praise service with teaching, praise and crafts for children beginning at age four. Children come together weekly to lead in prayer, learn about worship and study the word of God. The worship service includes “Praise Breaks” during which the children go “berserk” for God; games including “Bible Holy Man,” a spin on the traditional Hangman game; an Offering Time, during which children give talent and financial offerings, ranging from five cents to five flips; and, of course, a bathroom break. Following the interactive lesson during which children pretend to be Bible characters and engage props and costumes in bringing the Bible to life, each child participates in a craft project. On Friday nights, children are trained in the way they should go so that they will have a firm foundation and will not depart from the Lord when trials and questions arise in their lives. The Bible Study group takes periodic field trips on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons for children at 4 to 11. Cubs Scouts are from the age of 1st to 5th grade. Boy Scouts are from 5th grade and must complete prior to the age of 18 The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. For over a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through over a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society. Meetings are located at Friendly High School 1st and 3rd Friday's from September until May at 7pm. (Website: Boy Scouts Only)
