I really like that this provider has a home-like setting. The smaller group allows more one-on-one time and flexibility with changing the schedule for the day. I am always encouraged to engage in my son's learning and my suggestions are welcomed and used! I feel like he with someone that is genuinely invested in his care, learning, and safety.

Working in small groups allows development of self-identity, independent and cooperative thinking, communication skills, and teamwork.
I am a retired Metropolitan District of Columbia Police Officer (MPDC) that has always had a passion for working with children. During my tenure with MPDC, I worked in the Officer Friendly Program teaching safety, drug, crime, and stranger awareness. I was also the coordinator for the AAA Safety Patrol Program. After retiring, I began my career as a Teacher Assistant for Pre-Kindergarten 3 at various charter schools in the Washington, DC area. FELA was created from my vision of providing high quality childcare while encompassing the nurturing environment of a home setting.
