Piney Glen Children's Place
About Us: Hello, parents! Welcome to Piney Glen Children's Place, my loving home daycare in Potomac, MD! I am the owner and main caregiver of this licensed family child care program and I have a total of 15 years of experience. Before opening my own daycare, I worked at another licensed facility for 13 years, and as a nanny for 3 years. These experiences, along with raising my own 4 children, helped me become an expert in providing quality child care and early education. I am a mother myself, so I can relate to parents and understand your child care needs. I’m CPR, first-aid certified, and at my daycare, you will have peace of mind since the safety and security of every child is my top priority! Program: My family child care program is open year-round from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. If needed, I can also accommodate earlier or later hours (please email to discuss). I offer full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 1 week, as well as toddlers through preschoolers up to 5 years old, including children with special needs. Breakfast, snacks and lunch are served to all attending kids (included in the tuition!) In addition to English, I speak Farsi/Persian and at your request, I can expose your child to this foreign language. My facility also offers plenty of outdoor fun – I have a backyard, and also a community playground (with pool) near my home. Location: Piney Glen Children's Place is located in the Piney Glen Village neighborhood of Potomac, MD. I’m right off Shady Grove Rd and a few minutes away from Darnestown Rd (route 28). My home is also a short drive from the I-270 and I-370 so your commute will be convenient. Thanks for taking the time to reading my profile, please send an email to book a tour. I’d love to meet your family!

Sherman Early Childhood Center at Har Shalom

The Sherman ECC opened in 1972 and has grown to become the pride of... our congregation. In the summer of 2016 our classrooms were completely renovated and feature open spaces and big beautiful windows. In the fall of 2016 our school will be building a state of the art natural playground. Last year we were named Washington FAMILY magazine's Best Preschool, Best Faith-based school, and Best Art Classes. At the Sherman ECC, we believe that each child is a capable and unique individual. Our program provides learning and positive social interaction opportunities for all children through a quality, inclusive and developmentally appropriate program. We nurture children and families in a safe and supportive community. Our program strives to meet the individual needs of each and every child and encourages them to explore their environment through meaningful, relevant and hands-on experiences. Through an array of developmentally appropriate approaches, children develop language, cognitive, social-emotional and physical skills. In addition, our children develop spirituality and an intense feeling of pride in their Jewish heritage, as they observe and participate in Jewish customs and holiday observances. As early childhood professionals, we aim to give each child the opportunity to learn, develop and play to their fullest potential. Our Director, Beth Hoch has been in the early childhood field for over 16 years as a teacher, team leader, and school administrator. She has a passion for Jewish early childhood education and creating an environment where all children are growing and challenged. Beth feels parents are partners and that we work together in the classroom, at home, and in the synagogue to nurture each child and help them grow cognitively, socially, physically, and spiritually through a variety of learning experiences.
