Our day care center offers specialized programs to enhance the educational development of your children. In our infant and toddler care programs, a specific caregiver is assigned to each child and is responsible for most of his or her daily care. Each day, communication is sent home with the child to report on activities, meals, naps, diaper changes, and how the day went overall. A variety of activities are scheduled throughout the day, depending on the development of the child. These activities take place in small groups. Children ages 2 to 4 enjoy a program designed to stimulate their development in language, creativity, and cognitive learning, as well as promote emotional, social, and physical growth. Two-year-olds thrive in this innovative program. Healthy infant and toddler care and development is fostered between each child and their assigned caregiver, and we offer structured age-appropriate educational programs and supervised activities, including: Music Story Time Games Basic Sign Language Creative Play Art Two-Year-Old Program For our two-year-old program, we focus on stimulating language, creativity, cognitional and emotional learning, and sociall and physical growth. A day-to-day schedule and weekly plan is created for these six areas. Each day your child experiences creative play, story time, art, language development, music, and movement, along with other developmental activities. Parents receive a sunshine report every day that outlines daily and creative activities, toilet progress, and disposition. Three-Year-Old Program The core of our three-year-old program is to develop language and concept skills using hands-on activities that provide explanation of concepts such as classification, serration, spatial relationships, and numbers. Children listen to stories, re-telling of events, and watch dramatic plays with puppets, props, and music. A copy of the lesson plan containing weekly themes is sent home. This hands-on approach to learning new skills is introduced through daily stories and games that teach your child mathmatic concepts, the alphabet, and phonic awareness. Your child also gets to participate in field trips in the community. These trips enhance your child’s enjoyment of our weekly themes. We send parent communication reports home each week so you stay updated on your child’s development. Each week includes recreational and outdoor activities with rewarding learning, discovery and play experiences. We also plan weekly field trips to local and regional points of interest. In addition, local music groups and magic workshops visit us for special events. Sign Language Program Children love the activities available at Lansdown II Early Development Center in Alexandria, Virginia, including sign language. Focusing on accelerated early childhood development, we teach these activities individually or in small groups. From the moment babies start communicating, we incorporate a sign language program enabling infants and toddlers as young as six-eight months to communicate before they speak. Infants aged 6-24 months are introduced to basic signing daily during every day routine and continuously throughout the year. Signing accelerates early learning and reduces frustration for children and adults alike. It also promotes high IQ by reinforcing memory and creative skills. Spanish Language The second most widely spoken language in the United States is Spanish. Being exposed to a second language can be a benefit to your child as he or she grows. Give your child a great start at NoVA Early Learning Academy with our Spanish Language program.

Bilingual Spanish Daycare

I’m the owner and lead teacher of this family child care and preschool program in Burke and I have been providing child care for almost 20 years! I’m... also a mother of 2 and I hold a Child Development Associates Degree. My family child care and preschool program is a bilingual Spanish daycare. The curriculum is English-based, but I speak and teach Spanish to my little students. At our home daycare and preschool, we strive to provide not only safe and affordable child care, but also quality early childhood education. We use the 4 following curriculums, borrowing elements from each one, depending on the age and developmental stage of my students: Mother Goose Curriculum, Carson-Dellosa Curriculum (for children 18 months and over), Abeka Curriculum (Christian-based curriculum; however, we are not a religious child care program), and High Reach Learning Curriculum (for preschoolers). My daycare is open between 7:30am and 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. We provide full-time and part-time daycare for infants as young as 2 weeks and for children up to 5 years old. We run a preschool program and curriculum for older children. We provide breakfast, lunch and snacks for the children in our care, and we’re a peanut-free as well as treenut-free daycare (we’re part of the USDA Food Program). I can also offer before and after school programs for children up to 12 years old. There is a bus stop near my daycare Kings Park Elementary School (I can meet your child at the bust stop). My daycare is located off Guinea Rd (near Lake Royal and Greenfield Park), with easy access to both Braddock Rd (route 620) and Fairfax County Pkwy (route 286).
