Last year I wrote a post about affordable items that can serve as 10 Fun Stocking Stuffers Your Kids Will Love for Under $5. That blog post got me thinking of other great gift ideas for 2014. This year I decided to come up with a list of objects that we as adults consider ordinary, but which will arouse children’s curiosity, and most importantly for us as parents, will keep them busy! 😉  Here’s my new list of household-items-turned-toys as stocking stuffers that will definitely not break your wallet!

Gift Ideas for Child Care Provider Appreciation Day

Provider appreciation day is here Friday! Founded in 1996, Provider Appreciation Day is a good way to show your child’s caregivers and teachers just how much you appreciate them. Being a teacher takes a lot of effort, and many of them see your child more than you do. This May, you can show your child’s teachers how much you appreciate their efforts.

The holiday season is generally pretty hard on the wallet, but wonderful presents don’t have to be pricey. In fact, often times, gifts that my kids love the most are those that don’t cost more than $5! Plus, they are the kind of toys you don’t need to worry about being sold out. So you can easily find these at the store, even this close to Christmas! Here are some ideas for stocking stuffers that won’t break your wallet:

  • Crayola Bath Markers
Kids love them! If you have trouble getting your little one to take a bath, this will be a game-changer! (Walmart, Target, Amazon)
  • Sprinkles
These will put a smile on any kid’s face, guaranteed! HomeGoods and TJ Maxx often have very colorful and fun-shaped sprinkles, but of course you can find them at any grocery store. (HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Grocery store)
