About Us:
Welcome to Sunny Ridge Kids Playhouse, my lovely home daycare in Alexandria, VA! I am a mother of 4 and I hold CPR and first-aid certifications. I run our family child care program with my assistant who holds a Child Development Associates degree. Our mission is to offer a safe, encouraging and fun environment for your little one!
Our Program:
We are open year-round, between 7:00 am and 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We provide full-time and part-time child care for infants as young as 1 week, and for toddlers and preschoolers up to 3 years old. Snacks are offered to children in our care (included in the tuition), and our home-based daycare is a peanut and tree-nut free environment. Our main space is nice and has a great layout. We have bright and colorful carpets, excellent lighting and a comprehensive learning curriculum posted.
Our Philosophy:
My assistant and I are dedicated and committed to providing the best quality child care! You can be assured that your kids are in good hands as we are experienced caregivers and our top priority is your child’s safety. We will also nurture your kids by engaging them in fun educational games, and we will develop their artistic side through Arts & Crafts, as well as Music activities.
Safety Procedures:
In response to the current health situation, we have implemented additional health & safety measures. We ensure that children wash their hands and faces in between snacks and lunch. High chairs and tables are thoroughly cleaned after activities, and we make sure that toys used are set aside to be cleaned at the end of the day.
Our Location:
Sunny Ridge Kids Playhouse is located in the Sunny Ridge Estates community, right off Franconia Rd (near the Rose Hill Shopping Center). Our location is very convenient for your commute to work since we're minutes away from the Capital Beltway (I-495) and Telegraph Road (route 611). We are also very close to both Mark Twain Middle School and Rose Hill Elementary School.

The owner and her staff do an amazing job to make my child comfortable. My child looks forward to going daycare and they quickly gained the caregivers' trust when they first started going. Our son has been enrolled for a year and loves going to school here. Some days he doesn't want to leave! A very caring environment where the teachers are more like family. Lots of toys. While there isn't a structured curriculum, we can see how much he is learning from his teachers and classmates. Would highly recommend!

Our son is 8 months old and has been at this daycare since he was almost 3 months old. We are SO lucky to have found this caregiver and her sister. She has a low teacher:child ratio which allows them to give more individualized attention to each child. We just love this Daycare. The staff have truly become more like family members. I don't think we could have imagined having such wonderful caretakers looking out for our daughter. When she starts pre-k we definitely will miss them terribly.

Our daughter was here for over a year (4-16 months old), and we could not have asked for a better place or caregivers. The providers truly treat every child as their own - my daughter loved going and always came home happy/content. The provider and her staff are truly special care providers who treat all of their children like their own grandchildren. They have a wealth of experience and knowledge and dealings with all types of children. We were sad to leave them and wish them nothing but the best!

My daughter loved her time here and I loved that she had a place to go that was a cozy home environment. I felt comfortable leaving her everyday knowing she was in capable hands. She also got lots of attention since the number of kids is kept low. Staff made pick up and drop off easy, toys are regularly rotated and the house was always clean. I highly recommend.

Absolutely love this Childcare. They have taken great care of my twins since they were 3 months old. My babies are always happy to see all the staff and are clean and happy when I pick them up. Feels like leaving them with family and there’s a GREAT child to staff ratio. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for an in-home child care that is a lot warmer than standard daycare centers

My daughter was there for only a few months but in that short time both she and the teachers formed a genuine bond! This provider was wonderful and very helpful and we were sad to go. I definitely recommend her for the care of your little one!

I am so happy to have found this wonderful daycare for my 4 month old son. The ladies that run this daycare are so kind and obviously love kids. My son has been happy there since his first day. This daycare is great. On our daughter's first day at this place, we received a very thoughtful photo of her being perfectly content :) We've been with them for about two months now. The providers are super nice and very caring. My husband and I are thankful and happy to have found a wonderful place for our daughter to be cared for.

This family child care provides a very nurturing environment for my child. The family atmosphere, care, and attention is like a home away from home.
