Dear parents, I would like to welcome to you and your little ones to Blackburn Village Children's Place, our licensed daycare and preschool in Burtonsville, MD. I am passionate about providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where children can thrive and grow. I'm CPR and First-aid certified, as well as MAT trained. As a dedicated caregiver, I understand the importance of early childhood development, and my goal is to create a positive, inclusive space for your baby!

Our daycare operates from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, catering to children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. We offer both full-time and part-time programs to accommodate your family's unique needs. We provide nutritious meals, both lunch and snacks (included in the tuition), and our facility is completely peanut and tree-nut free. Our family child care program is located in the Blackburn Village neighborhood, near Burtonsville Elementary School. Our facility is easily accessible from Columbia Pike (route 29) and Sandy Spring Rd, making your daily commute to work more convenient. Our environment is respectful and engaging, ensuring the safety and health of all children in our care.

Our curriculum is tailored to the age, abilities, and interests of each child. We follow age-appropriate routines, offering activities that meet the developmental and educational needs of infants to toddlers, and preschoolers. Our daily schedule is thoughtfully crafted to provide a balance of learning, play, and rest. Daily activities include arrival and free play, followed by breakfast, circle time, and various learning activities until lunch. Afternoon activities include naptime, art, music, snack time, ending with free play and cleanup before the end of the day. We cherish the outdoors and, weather permitting, we have both morning and afternoon outdoor play sessions.

Embracing a play-based teaching philosophy, we believe in fostering children's social, physical, emotional, and cognitive skills. Our goal is to create a loving atmosphere where children feel valued and encouraged to explore the world around them. Our positive discipline policy encourages children to make their own decisions, fostering a sense of independence. We provide choices throughout the day and set clear, simple, and consistent rules. Positive communication, reinforcement of appropriate behaviors, and redirection are key components of our approach. We also encourage children to solve their problems by showing empathy and having a conversation among friends.
